The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1543: Chapter 1542: Great Fondness for the Shop

The crowd, upon hearing this, suddenly understood.

It’s really great, while others have to grow their business little by little from a small shop, Village Chief Lu, on the other hand, has their items snapped up the moment they come out, selling out without even needing to open a shop.

”Village Chief Lu, as the saying goes, there’s a surprise lottery on the opening day, what’s the deal with that lottery?”

As soon as someone asked this, everyone’s spirits were instantly lifted.

Compared to knowing the glorious history of Lu’s Shop, they naturally cared more about matters closely related to them. A lottery, now that’s an irresistible temptation for ordinary folks.

Seeing everyone eagerly watching her, Shu Yu could only say helplessly, ”Well, you’ll find out when you come back on opening day. If I tell you now, it wouldn’t be a surprise anymore.”

”Can’t you reveal just a bit?”

Shu Yu shook her head.

The crowd was disappointed, but knowing there were just over ten days left, they figured they could wait a bit longer.

In the meantime, Ying Xi and Wei Fangfang arrived carrying a bucket of tea, handing a bowl to each of the waiting people nearby.

”In this hot weather, it’s tough waiting around, have some tea to quench your thirst first.”

Only upon this mention did everyone realize how thirsty they actually were.

Indeed, they did feel a bit parched.

The tea was brewed from ordinary tea leaves, not strong in flavor, but still more refreshing than plain water. After drinking, everyone felt good, and their impression of the yet-to-open shop was greatly enhanced.

They were just here for the buzz, the shop hadn’t put up any items for sale or made a single cent, yet they were already serving tea. Imagine coming in as actual guests; the treatment surely wouldn’t be lacking.

At the very least, such disdainful behavior like looking down on people wouldn’t occur.

After the tea was divided, seeing that Ying Xi was now free, Shu Yu let her take Wei Ronghua’s place to keep track, and then walked aside with him to talk.

”Manager Wei, you’re making quite a grand display here.”

Hearing that there was no blame in her words, Wei Ronghua relaxed inwardly and smiled, ”I heard that saying too, it’s everywhere on the streets and alleys. If there’s no one promoting it, it wouldn’t be so lively. I figured, since the boss is making such a big splash, it must mean they want it to be as bustling as possible.”

Shu Yu took a sip of tea, ”That makes sense.”

”I strolled around here last night, after meeting with Yiping, I realized it has to leave a deeper impression. The saying alone isn’t enough, the hiring process needs to cause a commotion too.”

Especially as the saying mentioned the capital and the Imperial Palace; while these are eye-catching enough, they also give off the impression that the melon seeds and sunflower oil are expensive, making common folks feel they can’t afford them.

Once such a thought arises, even if there are lotteries or whatnot, many still wouldn’t dare step in for a look.

Thus, Wei Ronghua planned to seize the opportunity during this recruiting, to subtly inform everyone in advance, letting them know that, though sunflower oil as edible oil is pricier, the melon seed prices are fair and affordable for ordinary families.

Shu Yu nodded, it seemed Old Master Miao’s introduction wasn’t wrong, Wei Ronghua indeed had the ideas and capability.

”Alright, then I’ll leave the recruiting matter in Manager Wei’s capable hands.”

She had just come to take a look and discuss the lottery for the opening day.

Since Manager Wei was busy now, she decided to get on with other things herself.
