The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1502: Chapter 1502: Wu Family’s Wu Fengyuan

Shu Yu spoke first, addressing him, ”Young Master Wu?”

Wu Fengyuan was taken aback, ”Are you... Monarch Lu Xiang?” He looked Shu Yu up and down for a moment, appearing somewhat unsure.

Seeing Shu Yu nod, he was momentarily stunned, then furrowed his brow in confusion, ”Why are you dressed like this?”

It’s really not his fault for failing to recognize her; the Shu Yu before him had the demeanor of a married woman, with a few wrinkles on her face, looking about thirty years old. Moreover, she was wearing a gray, somewhat patched-up outfit, not resembling the Monarch Lu Xiang at all.

Not only was she dressed like that, but Ying Xi was as well. She still looked like a young girl, but her attire made her seem like a little country girl.

If it weren’t for recognizing Shu Yu’s voice, Wu Fengyuan truly almost passed her by as if she were a stranger.

Shu Yu lightly coughed, touched her hair, and said with a smile, ”I have something to do shortly, so I’m temporarily changing my outfit.

Wu Fengyuan nodded and did not ask further, as it was evidently a personal matter of Monarch Lu Xiang.

However, he had some guesses in his heart, estimating that it was about those several acres of sunflower field.

Otherwise, he had gone to report the news just yesterday; how could Monarch Lu Xiang have appeared here today and come knocking?

He pondered over it, realizing there was nothing important in the afternoon, so he could take Monarch Lu Xiang to see those acres of land.

Thinking of this, Wu Fengyuan said with a smile, ”Monarch Lu Xiang, after traveling a long way, come in and have a rest, have a cup of tea.”

”Alright.”

”Please, this way.”

The Wu family’s gatekeeper didn’t hear what they were talking about, so he didn’t know who Shu Yu was.

He just watched as his Eldest Young Master invited a woman who seemed to have come for charity into the house.

After entering the front hall, Ying Xi placed the gifts they brought on the table.

Wu Fengyuan raised an eyebrow.

Shu Yu smiled and said, ”Thank you, Young Master Wu, for making the trip yesterday to inform us about the sunflower planting in Donggu County.”

Wu Fengyuan waved his hand, ”Monarch Lu Xiang is too courteous, it was just a coincidence, a small gesture.”

Shu Yu smiled, thinking what coincidence — unless Wu Fengyuan was visiting the sister who married into the Ding family in Jiangyuan County, it was unlikely he would appear near their workshop at that hour.

This favor, Shu Yu remembered.

”Regardless, I still want to thank Young Master Wu.”

Wu Fengyuan didn’t say much more, accepting the gift and offering Shu Yu tea.

After sitting for a while, he asked, ”Would you like to go see the newly planted sunflower field, Monarch Lu Xiang?”

Shu Yu hadn’t originally intended to see it. She had anticipated such a thing, and it might not only be in Donggu County; other places might have them too. She couldn’t focus her energy on stopping people from planting sunflowers. It would be a waste of time and might not even yield results. What she could do was quickly establish her Lu’s brand.

But with Wu Fengyuan’s question, Shu Yu got an idea; she wanted to see what the field looked like.

Thus, Shu Yu nodded, ”Sure, I just hope it doesn’t take up too much of your time.”

”No worries, I have nothing going on in the afternoon.”

”Thank you.”

The two didn’t delay further, quickly got up, and headed out to the sunflower field.

The field was outside the town, not too far, and was planted on the manor of a local landlord.

The carriage stopped sixty to seventy meters away from the field.
