The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1503: Chapter 1503: Wu Fengyuan’s Wrong Guess

Wu Fengyuan said, “The other party is an old master in Donggu County with the surname Qian. His family originally dealt in tea business. However, in recent years, their business didn’t fare well, and at the beginning of the year, two of their stores even closed. I figure the Qian family plans to engage in other trades, but they can’t find a way in for now.”

Then, seeing Shu Yu’s sunflowers thriving, both with toasting seeds and pressing oil, they started entertaining this idea.

But according to Wu Fengyuan, the Qian family had never dealt with this kind of business before, and with no experience, it’s very risky to suddenly switch trade.

Especially since the sunflowers are solely grown by Monarch Lu Xiang, and both the seeds and oil are rare commodities. They have never appeared in the Dasu dynasty before, and the future prospects are truly uncertain.

As Shu Yu listened, he nodded. Obviously, Old Master Qian valued the sunflower field significantly. It’s only a few acres of land, yet he assigned five or six people to patrol the area back and forth as if afraid of others approaching.

As soon as Shu Yu’s carriage stopped, those people vigilantly watched over, with a faint intent to inquire and shoo them away.

Shu Yu just lifted the curtain of the carriage to look outside. Old Master Qian’s sunflowers were planted later than theirs. The stem of the Lu family’s sunflowers had already reached Shu Yu’s shoulder, while Old Master Qian’s field had just sprouted.

Moreover, the sprouts looked sparse, nowhere near the lush green scene of their own sunflower field.

Wu Fengyuan also said, “These sunflowers were poorly planted. I’m afraid the yield won’t be high when it’s time for harvest.”

Shu Yu nodded, looking towards the water source not far away.

This piece of land is relatively moist, and nearby is a hillside that provides good shade.

Shu Yu smiled, turned to say to Ying Xi, “Let’s go.”

Wu Fengyuan was taken aback, “Leaving already, without checking it out? Aren’t we going to confront the Qian family?”

Shu Yu withdrew his gaze, leaned against the window frame, and said with a smile, “No, there are matters waiting back in town.”

Wu Fengyuan, “…” So you’re not here for this land in Donggu County?

Shu Yu sensed his peculiar gaze and asked, somewhat puzzled, “Does Young Master Wu have any concerns? Or is there any issue with this land?”

Wu Fengyuan quickly shook his head, smiling, “No, let’s head back then.”

“Thanks for your trouble today, Young Master Wu.”

It wasn’t a big deal, and Wu Fengyuan didn’t mind. The group then turned back to the town.

This time, Shu Yu didn’t go to the Wu family, but simply rented an upper room at a nearby inn.

Wu Fengyuan now understood she was planning to stay overnight in the county town. It seemed she did have other important business, more significant than the sunflower field.

Wu Fengyuan chuckled and took his leave from Shu Yu, “Since Monarch Lu Xiang has matters to tend to, I won’t disturb further. If Monarch Lu Xiang needs any help, please feel free to find me at the Wu residence. Our family is quite familiar with Donggu County.”

“Thank you.”

Wu Fengyuan cupped his hands, taking his attendants with him as he left.

By this time, it was nearly 1 p.m to 3 p.m. Shu Yu didn’t delay further, storing the carriage in the inn’s backyard and then headed directly to find Wei Ronghua with Ying Xi.

Wei Ronghua currently worked as the shopkeeper at a pastry shop named Red Cake. The shop wasn’t large but had decent business, and according to Old Master Miao, this was owing to Wei Ronghua’s credit.

Shu Yu specifically chose an inn near the Red Cake shop, so it wasn’t too far to walk there now.
