The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1523: Chapter 1523: The Person Who Bumped Into Us

Shu Yu instinctively shook her head, ”Nothing’s wrong.”

The estate had been repaired little by little originally, but all in the name of Old Master Miao.

Later, after Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng learned that the owner of the black market was the Second Prince, they stopped the work completely to avoid complications. They hadn’t been up there for months. Anyway, because Old Master Miao was managing his business poorly and had no money, even the brothel had closed. So, it’s normal he wouldn’t have time to manage the estate.

By early October, it was the agreed upon year deadline.

By then, Old Master Miao would sell the estate, Meng Yunzheng would take over, and begin construction, giving them a legitimate reason to proceed.

Meng Yunzheng planned to expand the academy significantly, with a future home naturally located within the academy, where they might reside most of the time.

Shu Yu’s workshop and flower fields were also there; the rooms in the academy would mostly become their everyday residence after they married.

Once construction begins in October, how these rooms should be made, into what style, becomes very important.

For Meng Yunzheng, this matter felt somewhat urgent.

Shu Yu steadied her mind and coughed lightly before saying, ”I’ll think about it later.”

Meng Yunzheng then held her hand and kept walking forward, ”Actually, your Yu Garden is very good, since you designed it yourself. If you like it, just replicate it. That way, you’ll also be comfortable and familiar.”

Shu Yu, however, shook her head, ”That won’t do, Yu Garden is a boudoir.”

Both the color tone and layout of Yu Garden reflected the thoughts of a young girl that she had imagined but couldn’t realize before. When she designed it initially, she focused on aesthetics, without considering much else.

But the bridal room is different; it’s a shared room for both parties, and naturally, it should be comfortable and convenient for both of them.

”There’s still time now. I’ll go back and think slowly. You think too, and tell me what you need, we’ll synthesize our ideas to design a room we both like.”

Meng Yunzheng smiled, ”Alright.”

The two exchanged a glance and began to carefully discuss how to layout the room.

They were walking along the riverbank; this river was quite long, initially in an isolated place with few people by the river, but it became livelier as they walked, gradually seeing many people setting flower lanterns afloat.

Shu Yu was pondering whether to buy a lantern to join in the fun when someone suddenly bumped into her from the side.

Meng Yunzheng, quick-eyed and deft, pulled her into his arms.

The person who bumped into her nearly fell to the ground and steadied themselves with a stagger, appearing somewhat embarrassed and angry. They turned around to scold, ”Why did you dodge away? Didn’t you see me just...”

When they looked up and saw it was Shu Yu, the person’s cursing voice stopped abruptly. Their face changed, and they quickly took two steps back, speaking nervously, ”So it was Village Chief Lu Xiang, I-I apologize for offending you, I wasn’t steady on my feet earlier and didn’t mean to curse you, I’m sorry.”

Shu Yu snorted lightly, ”You’re putting on quite the airs now, almost bumping into someone and still in the right.”

The person trembled, looking like they were about to cry.

Shu Yu felt nauseated just looking, as if she had bullied her, and frowned while saying sharply, ”Leave.” Truly spoiling her mood.

The person was delighted and immediately lowered their head to run away quickly.

Once the person left, Meng Yunzheng looked down at her, ”Are you okay?”

”I’m fine.”

”Do you know that person just now?”
