The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1542: Chapter 1541: Wei Ronghua’s Records

Shu Yu watched from behind for a while before stepping forward.

Seeing her approach, Wei Ronghua was taken aback and quickly stood up.

Shu Yu waved her hand, ”Manager Wei, carry on with your work first. We can talk later.”

Wei Ronghua, halfway up, sat back down and continued jotting down the information of people coming to apply for the staff position.

Shu Yu stepped forward and pulled out a few sheets of paper from the side to look at them.

The records on the paper not only included names and ages but also some basic information such as work experience, home address, literacy, and even height and appearance.

After all, since they would be facing customers at the front, the image of the staff was important. If someone is pleasantly attractive, that would be ideal. At the very least, they should look decent and upright.

Wei Ronghua’s markings were quite interesting too; if a particular feature stood out, he would draw a circle around it.

Shu Yu flipped through and found that there were quite a few people.

And these were just the ones registered in the morning. There’s still a day and a half remaining, and by the time they calculate the list, it might end up being a thick stack.

The problem is, they were only hiring one staff member.

Shu Yu chuckled, just hiring one staff member seems like a thousand troops crossing a single-log bridge.

Since she had said that she would leave everything to Wei Ronghua, she did not interfere. She put down the paper and intended to see if there was any place where she could help.

Just as she looked up, she saw someone at the steps in front of the shop asking her, ”Excuse me, miss, are you the Monarch Lu Xiang?”

Recognized?

Shu Yu nodded, ”I am.”

The people around immediately got excited upon hearing this, ”Then you are the boss of this shop?”

Someone hurriedly asked, ”Monarch Lu Xiang, we’ve all heard the jingle. Is it true that your shop’s melon seeds and sunflower oil are sold to the Capital and the Imperial Palace?”

Shu Yu straightforwardly stood at the door, nodded at everyone, ”Of course, I wouldn’t dare to make false advertisements. Especially when it involves supplying the Imperial Palace, if I were lying, wouldn’t I be arrested?”

The crowd became even more excited upon receiving her confirmation.

”So, is that sunflower oil even eaten by the Emperor?”

”I don’t know if the Emperor eats it, as I can’t see, but it is indeed used in the palace,” Shu Yu patiently explained, ”This sunflower oil has also been examined by Imperial Physicians and Food Doctors, and it’s indeed safe and healthy. I even have an imperial decree personally inscribed by the Emperor, commending the sunflower oil. Everyone will see it on the opening day.”

Upon hearing this, the crowd couldn’t help but whisper among themselves. Even if the Emperor didn’t eat it, surely the Concubines and noble people in the palace do, right? Moreover, there’s the Emperor’s own writing; if he hadn’t tasted it, how would he know it’s good, and how could he commend it?

”Monarch Lu Xiang, since this product is so good, why didn’t you open a shop in the prefecture earlier?”

Shu Yu said helplessly, ”I wanted to, but whether it’s melon seeds or sunflower oil, they were novelties when they first appeared. Other places didn’t have them. The former county magistrate of Jiangyuan County, Lord Xiang, naturally had to report these new products from the county to the imperial court. As soon as the Palace and the Capital knew about them, people came to buy them directly. Earlier, the workshop was small, and the production was not high enough to even supply the small shops in the county town, let alone the big shops in the prefecture.”
