The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1450: Chapter 1450: Ding Yuehua’s Current Situation

Xiao Yun was in the courtyard. When she saw Shu Yu, her eyes lit up suddenly, ”Lady Lu is here?”

”I’ve come to see Yuehua.”

”Miss is inside, please come in quickly, miss.”

When Shu Yu entered, Ding Yuehua was lying on the bed, and Mrs. Ding was watching her drink porridge.

But Ding Yuehua seemed to be uncomfortable due to the pregnancy, and couldn’t eat much, constantly refusing.

Mrs. Ding was helpless, ”No matter how uncomfortable, you still have to eat, don’t you? Look at how thin you are. If this continues, how will your body manage?”

”But Mother, I...” Before Ding Yuehua could finish, she saw Shu Yu come in and immediately turned her head, delighted, ”Yu.”

Shu Yu chuckled, ”What, not much of an appetite?”

Ding Yuehua looked at her pitifully, ”Not at all, just eating makes me want to vomit, and Mother is still forcing me to eat.”

Mrs. Ding was so angry she wanted to smack her, ”Aren’t I doing it for your own good?”

”Just in time, I’ve brought something good for you.” Shu Yu turned around, took a food box from Ying Xi, placed it on a small stool nearby, and brought out a bowl of sour and spicy porridge.

”Smell this, does it give you an appetite?” Shu Yu stirred it with a spoon. ”I heard from Ah Ning that you’re expecting, so I consulted Old Doctor Zhao. He gave me a recipe. This sour and spicy porridge has a bit of sourness to whet your appetite and only a hint of spiciness. Old Doctor Zhao said you can have it. So, early this morning, I had the kitchen make it and bring it over to you. It’s now at a good temperature. Would you like to try it?”

”Yes!” Ding Yuehua started salivating at the aroma.

Seeing this, Mrs. Ding exhaled slowly and handed the porridge to Xiao Yun.

She said with a smile, ”It seems only Shu Yu can help. I’ve been persuading you for half a day to no avail. Well, now that Shu Yu is here, you two can have a chat, and I’ll head out.”

She said to Shu Yu, ”Sorry to trouble you.”

”Aunt, go ahead with your tasks. Yuehua and I are good friends, so it’s not a bother at all.”

Ding Yuehua had already started drinking the sour and spicy porridge and just nodded upon hearing this.

After Mrs. Ding went out, Ding Yuehua finished the last mouthful, comfortably leaned back on the cushion, and sighed.

Shu Yu laughed, ”So, how’s your body holding up?”

”Thanks to Old Doctor Zhao, otherwise I might not have been able to keep this pregnancy.” Ding Yuehua touched her still flat belly. ”At first, I didn’t even know I was pregnant. It was my mother who came to see me and noticed something was off, so she took me to the clinic. It turned out the doctor said my pregnancy was unstable, with a high chance of miscarriage. I was so panicked then, and maybe because I was too scared, my stomach started feeling uncomfortable. Fortunately, Xiao Yun ran to your house to find your brother-in-law. It was by chance that she met Old Doctor Zhao, who stabilized it for me.”

This child didn’t come easily. When Ding Yuehua first found out, she was overjoyed, but the next word from the clinic doctor directly shattered her hope.

That day, Ding Yuehua’s emotional journey was like a rollercoaster, almost scaring her to death.

”Before Old Doctor Zhao left, he prescribed some medicine for me, and I’ve been taking it steadily. I was originally much better, and I could get out of bed and walk around. But who knew... the day before yesterday, my mother-in-law came over and nearly angered me to death, stirring the pregnancy again. My mother was so scared that she went to your house to find Doctor Zhao. Although it wasn’t a big issue, my mother hasn’t allowed me to get out of bed these past two days.”

Shu Yu frowned, ”You’re already in this condition, and your mother-in-law is still making trouble?”
