The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1440: Chapter 1440: It Was Ah Ning Who Got Blocked

With Meng Han blocking in front of them, Xia Yan felt half relaxed, and without restraint, quickly knocked all the men to the ground.

The few men must have realized they couldn’t handle them, staggered to their feet, and said angrily, ”You just wait.”

Then, enduring the pain, they quickly ran out of the alley.

Once they were gone, Meng Han let out a sigh of relief, then snorted at Xia Yan, ”Weren’t you saying you wouldn’t care? What happened, saw the girls and became the hero saving the beauty?”

Xia Yan glanced at her and then stepped past her to the two girls behind.

Meng Han showed disdain for him, thinking he lacked self-control, unable to move upon seeing girls, not as good as her. She’d have to talk to him properly when they got back.

However, Xia Yan suddenly crouched down and asked the younger girl, ”Miss Ah Ning, are you okay?”

Meng Han was stunned, was she someone they knew?

Ah Ning obediently shook her head, smiling and said, ”I’m fine. I’m not scared at all. These people just look intimidating.”

Xia Yan laughed, ”That’s good.” Knowing that this little girl had courage, he relaxed after making sure she wasn’t hurt.

Before he could stand up, Meng Han already squeezed over, curiously asking, ”Xia Yan, do you know this little sister? Who is she?”

Xia Yan said helplessly, ”This is Ah Ning, she is Lady Lu’s younger sister.”

Lady Lu’s younger sister? Meng Han’s eyes lit up, ”You are Sister Shuyu’s sister?! Ah Ning, you are so cute, I’m Meng Han, I’m Yunzheng’s sister, we will be good sisters from now on.”

”Eh?” Ah Ning was surprised, Brother Meng’s sister? How come she had never heard of her before.

Meng Han was about to explain her identity, but Xia Yan timely stopped her, ”No need to talk now, girls, we need to leave here. Those men escaped, who knows if they’ll bring help, let’s find a safe place to talk slowly, alright?”

Meng Han felt a bit regretful but still stood up, suppressing her eager urge to talk, and nodded in agreement.

Xia Yan exhaled a breath, then turned to look at the girl beside Ah Ning.

The girl in front sincerely thanked both of them, and Ah Ning introduced, ”This is Sister Xie, she is the female doctor at Renxin Clinic.”

Renxin Clinic, the place where Ah Ning was curious about the female doctor, visited for the first time only to encounter a criminal there.

Doctor Xie was someone known since that time.

Back then, Doctor Xie really liked her and wanted to take Ah Ning as her apprentice. But upon learning that Ah Ning already had a mentor, she regretfully gave it up but still provided her home address.

However, Ah Ning never visited.

This time she followed Elder Zhao, continuously helping Young Master Tan detoxify and treat illnesses at the prefecture. Because they often needed herbs, and Renxin Clinic happened to be the medical hall closest to the Tan Family, with a complete stock of medicinal materials, the master and apprentice often went.

Through these visits, Ah Ning and Doctor Xie became thoroughly familiar.

Ah Ning also liked Doctor Xie very much, and during her free time, she’d go to Renxin Clinic, helping out and sometimes checking pulses and making diagnoses, gaining a lot of practical experience.

Doctor Xie also learned numerous rare and complex conditions from Ah Ning that she had never encountered before, she hadn’t expected that the girl who could only bandage wounds as an assistant last year had improved so much within a year.

The two of them reached the point where they could discuss medical skills with each other, astonishing Doctor Xie.
