The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1416: Chapter 1416: I Need Sister Shuyu’s Help

Ms. Tao nearly fainted from rage. This father and daughter, these two were deliberately thwarting her, weren’t they?

One would go along with everything Meng Yunzheng wanted, and the other couldn’t tell near from far, not knowing who to help.

She had hoped her daughter would come and lend a hand. Now her daughter was busy helping Sister Shuyu instead.

Ms. Tao was furious, ignoring Uncle Meng altogether, and turned to leave.

Meng Yunzheng watched her back coldly, then had Xia Yan take Uncle Meng to the inn.

Although Meng Han stayed behind, when she turned back and saw Meng Yunzheng’s icy gaze, she felt uneasy and regretted not going to the inn with her father.

Sister Shuyu, however, smiled at her, “Let’s go, let’s check out the room.”

The small courtyard Meng Yunzheng rented had three rooms. Traveling away for several months, he wouldn’t skimp on comfort if he could help it.

So, he had one room, Xia Yan had another, and there was an additional study room.

His room had a bed and a daybed, occasionally used by Xia Yan for sleeping. Sometimes Aunt He stayed overnight due to some matters and would use Xia Yan’s room, while Xia Yan would sleep on the daybed in Meng Yunzheng’s room.

This time, with Meng Han staying, the daybed was given to her to sleep on.

The study had a small bed for Ying Xi.

Meng Han entered the room, assessed it, but didn’t express any opinion and sat down on the daybed.

Sister Shuyu was about to speak to her when Meng Yunzheng called her from outside.

She could only say to Meng Han, “Rest for a bit; I’ll be back soon.”

“Alright.”

Sister Shuyu came out, and Meng Yunzheng tousled her hair, apologizing, “Sorry, I didn’t know Aunt would also come.”

Uncle Meng’s visit was anticipated by Meng Yunzheng.

The day after the provincial exam results were released, Uncle Meng also came.

But Ms. Tao had always disliked him, yet this time she not only came along but also brought her daughter and niece, even intending to pair him with that Tao Qin.

If Uncle Meng hadn’t been present, Meng Yunzheng wouldn’t want to embarrass this elder who always meant well towards him, he would have directly had Xia Yan chase Ms. Tao out, regardless if she was some aunt or elder.

Sister Shuyu took his hand, “No worries, what’s there to worry about? She’s just kicking up a fuss; she’s nothing but a jumping clown. She’s neither your mother nor a proper elder to you, even if she speaks unpleasantly, she can’t make decisions here.”

“Mm, I’ll go back to the Meng family to pay respects to my mother in a few days, then I’ll head straight back to Jiangyuan County.”

“Good, once we’re back in Jiangyuan County, it’ll be our territory.”

Meng Yunzheng saw she was in good spirits and didn’t bring up the Meng family anymore, and then asked about the Dongqing Temple master.

Upon hearing that she had just left Yuelai Restaurant and directly out of town, Meng Yunzheng was speechless; it seemed too rushed.

The two talked outside for quite a while, and by then, Meng Han had already finished tidying up and felt sleepy, yet Sister Shuyu hadn’t returned to the room.

As Meng Han speculated, shocked if the two would really sleep together, the room door finally opened.

Upon hearing this, Meng Han sat up abruptly, and Sister Shuyu paused her steps, whispering, “Did I wake you?”

“No, no, I’ve been awake; I was waiting for you.”

Sister Shuyu was puzzled, “Waiting for me? Why were you waiting for me?”

Meng Han’s eyes sparkled, all signs of sleepiness gone. She saw Sister Shuyu close the door and hurriedly stepped forward, saying, “I have something I’d like Sister Shuyu to help with.”
