The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1402: Chapter 1402: Master and Disciple Heart-to-Heart Conversation

The Dongqing Temple master, usually calm and indifferent to most things, was now somewhat irritated by Shu Yu’s silent demeanor.

She massaged her temples, ”Alright, if you want to ask something, just ask.”

”Wait a moment, I’ll organize my thoughts before asking.”

The Dongqing Temple master, ”...” That’s why she avoided her countless times; this girl’s ability to irritate people was truly impressive.

No one knew how much time passed, and just when the Dongqing Temple master was about to fall into meditation, Shu Yu finally spoke, ”Master, weren’t you supposed to return to Dongqing Temple? But why do I hear from Yun that your next stop is the capital?”

For a moment, the Dongqing Temple master hoped she’d remain silent.

She pondered for so long, only to ask this question?

”Is this all you wanted to ask me?” Shouldn’t she be curious about why she revealed to Old Madam Shu that she wasn’t the Shu family daughter?

Shu Yu, ”Not at all, I actually have many questions in my mind. Isn’t it just step by step, one after the other?”

So she has to answer them one by one as well?

The Dongqing Temple master poured herself another cup of tea and drank it slowly.

Then she answered serenely, ”I initially thought I might pass through Dongan Province, so I planned a visit since I hadn’t been back to the temple for a long time. But I met a fellow practitioner midway, who said a friend in the capital was in some trouble. She couldn’t go herself, so she asked me to make the trip on her behalf.”

Master, you really are kind-hearted.

Shu Yu understood and hesitated a moment, ”Then Master, what if I said I needed a little help from you too?”

”What kind of help?” The Dongqing Temple master was quite accommodating, ”If it’s truly minor, I won’t refuse as your master.”

”It’s like this, Master, do you know an Old Master with the surname Miao in Dongan Province? The one who runs the brothels.”

The Dongqing Temple master frowned, ”I know him. What about him? Did he bully you?”

”Of course not, how could I be bullied by him? It’s just that he wanted to meet you and chat about some small matters.”

First, a small request, now small matters; in her words, is there anything truly significant? The Dongqing Temple master couldn’t help sipping tea again.

Then as if she thought of something, she asked curiously, ”From the way you speak, it seems you have a good relationship with Old Master Miao, considering you traveled such a distance to find me because of him?”

Shu Yu immediately shook her head, ”No, Master, you misunderstood.”

She explained in detail how Meng Yunzheng wanted to buy the Black Market Manor, but the owner would rather sell to Old Master Miao than to them, and they had to approach Old Master Miao about it. She also recounted how Old Master Miao wanted to move her sister’s longevity lamp beneath the ancestral master’s seat, leading Shu Yu to negotiate with him.

The Dongqing Temple master realized, ”I see. But this counts as acting first and reporting afterward, doesn’t it?”

”Master, I learned this from you; like master, like pupil.” She spoke seriously, as if it were something she took great pride in.

The Dongqing Temple master, ”...”

She turned her head, drank another sip of tea, and naturally changed the topic, ”So, how is Old Master Miao now?”

Shu Yu knew she was asking whether Old Master Miao was still harming innocent women.

Regarding this matter, Shu Yu had always been attentive; after all, she promised to introduce him, so as the person making the introduction, she couldn’t be completely ignorant of his current situation.
