The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1421: Chapter 1421: Hard to Meddle

Shu Yu listened quietly for a long time, then shook her head at Meng Han with a sigh, saying, ”For the moment, I don’t know what to do either.”

Meng Han looked a bit disappointed but didn’t insist on getting an answer.

Shu Yu patted her shoulder, ”Alright, let’s take our time to figure this out. It’s getting late; let’s sleep first. We have things to do tomorrow.”

”Alright.”

Meng Han stood up dejectedly and climbed into bed to sleep.

Shu Yu, however, remained seated and took a couple more sips of tea. To solve Ms. Tao’s issue is hard yet not hard; there are always ways.

But this was a matter for the Meng family, and it really had little to do with Shu Yu.

Even if Meng Han asked her for a solution, she couldn’t blindly agree to whatever the other side said.

They had just met; who knew if what she said was true?

It’s better to ask Meng Yunzheng’s opinion before deciding.

Shu Yu rubbed her shoulders, stretched lazily, and shuffled back to bed to sleep.

A sleepless night.

The next morning, Shu Yu took the opportunity while Meng Han was freshening up to talk to Meng Yunzheng.

The latter seemed unsurprised, ”What she said is true. Aunt indeed is solely focused on her brother, caring more for him than for her own children. The term you used, ’sibling-favoring demon,’ is rather appropriate.”

He chuckled as he spoke, nodding in agreement.

Shu Yu resisted the urge to roll her eyes, ”So should we intervene in this matter??”

Meng Yunzheng shook his head, ”Not easy to intervene.”

The crux of Ms. Tao’s issue lies with Uncle Meng; it’s a matter for him.

Even if Meng Han feels wronged and disgusted, it should be Uncle Meng or her brother Meng Qi to handle it.

Meng Yunzheng, just returned to the Meng family and unfamiliar with them, a ’fake nephew,’ getting involved would be inappropriate.

Shu Yu shrugged, ”Got it.”

However, while they didn’t plan to interfere with Meng family affairs, the Tao Family seemed eager to involve themselves with the two of them.

As soon as they finished talking, Uncle Meng came in with Ms. Tao and Tao Qin.

The three arrived early, carrying breakfast bought from outside, including a variety of wontons, noodles, and buns.

These were all bought by Uncle Meng. In his eyes, Meng Yunzheng was young, still studying, and without income. Last night’s big dinner had already been an expense for him.

As for the meals, clothing, and other expenses for the group, it’s appropriate he, as the uncle, should take responsibility.

He cheerfully placed everything on the table, then asked Meng Han, ”You didn’t cause trouble for your cousin and Shu Yu last night, did you?”

Meng Han felt guilty, remembering how she talked to Shu Yu for so long last night.

But Shu Yu casually said, ”No, Ah Han was very well-behaved.”

Uncle Meng was pleased, ”That’s good, come on, everyone, have breakfast first.”

Shu Yu took a bite of a bun and glanced suspiciously at Ms. Tao and Tao Qin.

Strange, these two... are unusually quiet, not saying a single word since they entered.

Not only that, their faces were all smiles, and their attitude towards her was much more amiable, like different people compared to yesterday.

What’s up with that, just holding back some mischief?

After breakfast, Meng Yunzheng said he was going to the street to buy something, ”Tomorrow I’m going back to Chenggu County to pay my respects to my mother. Since I’ve passed the Scholar exam, I should tell her this good news.”
