The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1432: Chapter 1432: Meng Qi

Hearing this, Meng Qi’s facial muscles suddenly tightened, and his lips pressed together firmly.

Yes, Meng Han ran away from home, and indeed left a letter at home.

She actually left yesterday morning, and the letter was found by Ms. Tao around noon.

If someone had been sent to pursue her immediately, they indeed could have reached the prefecture before the city gates closed last night.

However, after reading the letter, Ms. Tao not only didn’t pursue her, she even got angry, blaming Meng Han for being immature.

She thought that her daughter had become disobedient after visiting the prefecture. Tao Qin got sick, was slapped by Shu Yu, and felt aggrieved, almost being forcibly brought back.

After returning, Ms. Tao wanted to comfort her. Knowing that she liked the recently acquired jade flute, she wanted to give it to her.

The jade flute was a gift from Uncle Meng when he returned from an escort mission a few months ago, and Meng Han treasured it.

Tao Qin was also envious, and was naturally delighted to have a chance to get it.

Ms. Tao asked Meng Han to make a painful sacrifice and consider Tao Qin, which almost made Meng Han explode with anger. Thinking of the slap from Shu Yu and the words that followed, Meng Han was agitated and, without a word, hit Tao Qin.

Ms. Tao erupted on the spot, reflexively returning the slap, but Meng Han, with her agility, dodged it.

Yet, even the slap that didn’t land from Ms. Tao completely chilled Meng Han’s heart.

She no longer wanted to stay with Ms. Tao, nor did she want to acknowledge this as her mother.

Even so, Meng Han still thoughtfully left a letter before leaving to prevent them from searching everywhere for her.

Who knew Ms. Tao was still angry herself and didn’t intend to search. She even thought Meng Han was just throwing a tantrum. As for going to the prefecture city to look for her brother, with her small frame never having been on a long journey, where would she find the courage to go? It was completely impossible.

Ms. Tao wasn’t worried, so it was delayed until evening.

Meng Han still hadn’t returned, and Ms. Tao finally panicked and hurried to find Meng Qi, who was studying at the academy, to discuss countermeasures.

Meng Qi was stunned upon hearing it; his sister was thirteen years old, and the furthest she’d been was the prefecture city, and that was with family. Now she had run off all by herself?

Unlike Ms. Tao, Meng Qi cared a lot about his sister.

Without a word, he wanted to mount a horse to chase, but the city gates were already closed. Meng Qi didn’t have the ability to get someone to open the gates for him.

He spent almost the entire night tossing and turning in a small inn near the city gates, just hoping nothing had really happened to Meng Han, hoping she was indeed with Meng Yunzheng, safely resting in the prefecture.

As soon as the gates opened this morning, Meng Qi was the first to rush out, heading straight for the prefecture.

Therefore, at this moment, Meng Qi looked very haggard, with the bloodshot veins in his eyes very apparent.

Fortunately, Meng Han was okay. He sat weakly on the steps, rubbing his temple.

Aunt He was a bit worried about him, “Are you alright?”

Meng Qi raised his head, smiled at her, and waved his hand, saying, “I’m okay, I’ll rest for a while.”

“Are you going to chase after Young Master Meng? They left an hour ago.”

Meng Qi shook his head, “No need, even if I chase them, I might not catch up.”

Although he didn’t like Meng Yunzheng, the ‘golden child’ of others, he had to admit that with Meng Han with him, he was reassured.

This man was a Scholar, traveled to many places, and with him by her side, Meng Han might gain some experiences along the way.

However, after this incident, Meng Qi gained a very clear understanding of Ms. Tao’s attitude toward the maternal family.

This time, Mother really went too far.

If this continues, the family will fall apart.
