The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1446: Chapter 1446: Shu Yu’s Deliberate Guidance

Ah Ning blinked. Second Sister was really too concerned about her, so touching.

Shu Yu glanced at her and continued speaking to Tan Cheng, ”What I mean is, the person who poisoned Young Master Tan persisted for two years, just about to succeed when our family’s Lord suddenly intervened. They must hate it in their heart, and now that they can’t act against Young Master Tan, they might turn their eyes towards the Lord and my little sister.”

Tan Cheng and Mrs. Tan’s faces changed, and they immediately sat upright. This... is indeed possible.

Shu Yu looked conflicted, ”Perhaps the target of those thugs yesterday wasn’t my little sister, maybe I was overthinking. But this incident reminded me that the murderer who poisoned Young Master Tan should be found as soon as possible.”

”Yes.” Speaking of the murderer, Mrs. Tan’s face was full of fury, and she strongly agreed with Shu Yu’s words.

”If we find that damned dog, I will definitely tear him to pieces. He harmed my son so terribly and still thinks he can get away with it?”

Shu Yu nodded in agreement, ”I think so too. If we don’t find them quickly, even though Young Master Tan was saved this time, it might not prevent future attempts.”

Mrs. Tan’s heart tightened; this was also her biggest concern.

It’s just...

”Our family’s Lord checked everyone inside and out, and found a lead to a steward in the kitchen. We were going to interrogate that steward, but after a few questions, he died, and the clue completely ended there.”

She sighed, feeling very irritated.

To find the murderer quickly, their Lord had been exhausting his thoughts and energy these past days, but progress had not been made.

Shu Yu contemplated for a moment and then said, ”I think, since this person wants to poison Young Master Tan, they must have had a conflict with him. Two years ago, did Young Master Tan have any disputes with anyone?”

Tan Cheng shook his head; they naturally thought of this aspect too.

So when Young Master Tan’s health improved and his mind became clearer, he recalled if there were any conflicts two years ago, serious enough for someone to want to poison him.

However, his temperament was always gentle, and when there were quarrels among friends, he often acted as the peacemaker.

Moreover, with a decent family background, he was generous in daily life and seldom had conflicts with others.

He even suspected that he might have obstructed someone else, but after thinking it over, there was nothing substantial.

Seeing no progress in this aspect, Shu Yu changed to another question, ”Since Young Master Tan has no enemies, then... two years ago did Young Master Tan see something he shouldn’t have and thus drew someone’s intent to silence him?”

Tan Cheng suddenly lifted his head, ”Silence?”

Mrs. Tan was also startled; they had only thought about enemies but not about unrelated people targeting their son so viciously.

But if it was truly like this, then the scope was too broad.

”Two years ago, did you see something you shouldn’t have? No, during that time I was preparing for exams, my mind was full of books and knowledge, wishing to write two more essays to feel more assured during the exams.”

Did he see anything at that time? No, he didn’t.

Tan Cheng furrowed his brow tightly, starting to make an effort to recall.

However, his body was still relatively weak, and in his anxiousness, his head started to throb painfully.

Old Doctor Zhao hurriedly pressed his hand down and massaged the acupuncture point at the back of his head, ”Alright, stop thinking, you’ll start coughing blood if you continue.”

Mrs. Tan was shocked and quickly instructed Tan Cheng to calm down.
