The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1406: Chapter 1406: I Guess He Wants to Recruit Him

Shu Yu never expected things to develop to this point.

”Is Yun okay?”

Xia Yan shook his head, feeling somewhat proud, ”Sir is the Top Scorer of the academy exam, well-versed in poetry and books, and is immensely knowledgeable. Those scholars have questions one after another, but to Sir, they are as simple as they can be, answered without a second thought. These people simply can’t stump Sir.”

Not only can’t they stump him, but many now greatly admire and respect their Sir.

Upon hearing this, Shu Yu became somewhat curious.

She looked around and saw that not far away there was a half-meter high stone pedestal, on which a potted plant was placed.

She curled the corner of her mouth and said to the Dongqing Temple master, ”Master, it’s noisy here, let Ying Xi take you to the hall to sit for a while. I’ll take a look at the situation first.”

The Dongqing Temple master nodded and followed Ying Xi out of the backyard, found a bench in the hall, and sat down to wait.

Meanwhile, Shu Yu had already walked over to the stone pedestal, took the potted plant off it, and without saying a word, stepped onto the stone pedestal.

The stone pedestal wasn’t very big; once Shu Yu was on it, she could barely set one foot on it, and the other foot had to be suspended in the air.

Xia Yan’s eyelids twitched watching her, quickly supporting her, ”Miss.”

”It’s okay, I’m just taking a look.”

Standing on the stone pedestal, her vision indeed became much clearer.

There were people everywhere here, but a large area in the middle was still open, with tables, chairs, and writing tools placed.

And Meng Yunzheng stood right in the middle. The scholars and examinees beside him were all talking at once to him, and someone even wrote for a while at the table and handed him the finished paper.

Meng Yunzheng was orderly, speaking while nodding and writing.

That Xun Sheng was also beside him, apart from him, there was another person standing on Meng Yunzheng’s other side.

Shu Yu slightly lowered her head and asked Xia Yan, ”Who is that person next to Yu in the light brown robe with a beard? They don’t look like this batch of examinees.”

Xia Yan immediately knew who she was talking about.

He lowered his voice even further, ”That’s Teacher Geng from the prefectural school. I heard he specifically came over when he knew Sir was here. I suspect he wants Sir to study at the prefectural school.”

Shu Yu’s expression tightened, lost in thought.

Just then, Meng Yunzheng had just looked up, and the figure of Shu Yu, who was half a head higher, unintentionally entered his eyes.

In fact, not only him, but most people facing this direction also saw Shu Yu.

After all, she stood high and was a woman, making her especially noticeable among this group of scholars.

Meng Yunzheng paused his actions, immediately about to move out.

Shu Yu slightly changed her expression, quickly signaling him to stop.

Meng Yunzheng was a bit taken aback, and Shu Yu gestured again, indicating that she would go back to the small courtyard first, telling him to take his time and return after finishing. She would go back to the small courtyard to prepare a celebration for him.

Meng Yunzheng frowned slightly, seeming a bit disapproving.

However, Shu Yu firmly glared at him, then jumped off the stone pedestal.

Xia Yan breathed a sigh of relief, ”Miss, should I go in now to bring Sir out? Please wait for a moment...”

”No need, I agreed with your Sir already. We’ll go back first. You stay here and wait for your Sir. Let him come back after he’s done.”

Xia Yan looked bewildered, agreed? Did she speak earlier? He didn’t hear a single word, so how did they come to an agreement?
