The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1418: Chapter 1418: The Brother-Supporting Maniac

Meng Han saw her agree, and immediately sat up straight again, leaning two degrees closer to her.

”Um, do you have a way to make my mother distance herself from my uncle’s family?”

Shu Yu was dumbfounded, this request... was too inexplicable.

Meng Han sighed, somewhat helplessly, ”As you can see, my mother is more affectionate towards my cousin than she is towards me. She glares at me as often as she checks on my cousin’s well-being, sometimes I can’t even figure out who is whose mother.”

Looking at Meng Han, the girl in front of her was two years younger than herself. But probably due to inheriting the good genes from the Meng family, she was slightly taller than Tao Qin, whom she had met earlier.

If it were in modern times, at this age, she would certainly be in her teenage years, particularly concerned about whether parents are biased or care about her.

This was troubling; how to respond to the demands of a teenager in their rebellious phase?

Shu Yu indicated she was completely inexperienced, she racked her brain trying to think, and said with difficulty, ”Maybe, this is just temporary. Your cousin is a bit older, at the age to get married, your mother might...”

”It’s not temporary.” Meng Han interrupted her, with a serious expression.

Shu Yu was taken aback, looking at Meng Han in this manner, she suddenly thought that perhaps this was not just some teenage impulsiveness.

Sure enough, in the next moment she heard Meng Han say, ”My mother’s kindness towards my uncle, cousin, and cousin has lasted for over ten years.”

She furrowed her brows, speaking with some distress, ”Oh, how should I explain this to you?”

Shu Yu added tea to her cup, ”Have some water, take your time to explain.”

Meng Han wetted her throat, put the cup down, and her thoughts became clearer.

”Sister Shuyu, you might not understand, my mother is particularly kind to my uncle. Not just now, even before she got married, she treated him like a son, even though my uncle is only two years younger than her. This situation has continued till now; whenever my uncle has anything going on, she helps out without hesitation.”

Shu Yu understood, ”She’s a slave to her brother.”

”What’s a slave to her brother?” Meng Han paused, then understood her meaning, nodding repeatedly, ”Yes, yes, that’s basically it, her support for her brother has reached an obsessive level.”

This is not an exaggeration, as the Meng family is doing well because Uncle Meng runs an escort agency.

At least, they’re better off than Uncle Tao, who’s just a regular farmer in the village. But because of Ms. Tao, the Tao family now not only bought a house in the county town but also lives quite a prosperous life.

Just look at Tao Qin if it weren’t for Ms. Tao and the Meng family, Tao Qin wouldn’t appear so delicate and ladylike now.

Back in the day, it was fine, the Tao family’s life improved, so Ms. Tao could rest easy.

But ever since Meng Pei and Meng Yunzheng returned to the Meng family, Ms. Tao feared they’d vie for inheritance from the Meng family, she went all out siphoning off things to the Tao family.

Now it’s even worse, the Tao family has set their sights on the promising Meng Yunzheng, and Ms. Tao, without a second thought, plans to match him with Tao Qin, regardless of whether Meng Yunzheng is engaged or if he’d be interested in her.

Meng Han sees her mother as if possessed, and at this rate, the family will end up falling apart.

Though she doesn’t like her mother’s character, she doesn’t want a good family to be ruined like this.
