The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1433: Chapter 1433: Meng Han Who’s Never Seen the World

Meng Han was not yet aware that her departure not only changed herself but also her elder brother’s attitude towards Ms. Tao and the Tao Family.

At this moment, she was sitting inside the carriage with an excited face, looking at the scenery outside.

Unlike Meng Qi, although Meng Han had learned some martial arts, due to her youth and being a girl, Uncle Meng never took her on escort missions. However, Meng Qi, despite having to study, had gone on two escort missions with Uncle Meng, broadened his horizons, and strengthened himself.

For Meng Han, who had never traveled far, leaving Changjin Prefecture made her feel like a bird freed from a cage, soaring high in the sky.

She had many questions along the way, intrigued by everything she saw.

Shu Yu, with nothing to do, answered whatever she asked. This made Meng Han feel Shu Yu was so knowledgeable that her eyes were almost filled with admiration.

However, she was a bit afraid of Meng Yunzheng now. She didn’t know if it was because when she ran away from home that day, he ignored her, or because later she encountered the flower traps, leaving her unable to reconcile her cousin’s personality with his appearance.

She felt that, although he appeared gentle and kind outwardly, he was actually a devil.

Thus, she mostly stayed with Shu Yu.

Yet, sometimes she was very tactful, every time she saw her cousin enter the carriage, she would immediately go out to ride a horse.

Currently, they had a spacious carriage and two horses.

Generally, Meng Yunzheng and Xia Yan would ride horses to guard around the carriage, but occasionally when Meng Yunzheng wanted to chat with Shu Yu, he would come onto the carriage.

Meng Han would quickly rush out to ride a horse instead, as she was adept at riding, and the scenery seen from horseback was different.

Shu Yu watched her chirpingly approach Xia Yan to ask him questions, couldn’t help but smile, dropped the curtain, and asked Meng Yunzheng, ”Logically speaking, Meng Han is also the young lady of an escort agency, why doesn’t she have a maidservant with her?”

”Originally, she did have one,” Meng Yunzheng leaned against the soft pillow, swaying slightly, ”That maid was close to her, Meng Han mostly stayed with her and was really fond of her. But earlier this year, Tao Feng from the Tao Family took a fancy to that maid, wanting to take her as a concubine.”

Of course, Meng Han disagreed, but this was not her decision to make, as the contract of servitude was in Ms. Tao’s hands.

Ms. Tao found it easy to reward a maid to her nephew as a concubine, let alone considering that the maid wasn’t good enough for her nephew.

Meng Han was so angry that she cried, but the maid had been with her for so many years, she had to find a way to keep her.

She went to plead with Uncle Meng, who, in this matter, sided with her, even thought it was absurd.

Tao Feng was Tao Qin’s younger brother, even younger than Tao Qin, only fourteen years old this year.

Uncle Meng thought seeking a woman and taking a concubine so early was bad for health and reputation for the Tao Family, so he didn’t agree.

Moreover, the maid was Meng Han’s companion and not an object; at the very least, her consent should have been considered if she was to marry.

Uncle Meng acted as the decision-maker and refused this matter, Ms. Tao caused a fuss but it ended unresolved.

But Meng Han believed Tao Feng wouldn’t let it go, so she quickly found a reliable person and hastily married off the maid.

After the maid got married, Meng Han never sought another, given that old women handled tasks at home.

”This matter is the real reason Meng Han sought my advice to handle the Tao Family.”
