The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1439: Chapter 1439: Weren’t You the One Who Said to Stay Out of It?

Shu Yu bid farewell to Daoist Nun Qiu and went down the mountain with Ying Xi.

She had come out for a while, and Meng Yunzheng had left for something else. She wondered what Meng Han was doing at the inn.

Most likely, she was very bored.

At this moment, the bored Meng Han indeed found herself leaving the inn.

She thought her cousin didn’t want her wandering around and causing trouble by asking Xia Yan to keep an eye on her. To her surprise, Xia Yan agreed right away when she tentatively mentioned wanting to go out for a stroll.

Meng Han was overjoyed and hurriedly took her allowance, heading out with Xia Yan.

In Meng Han’s eyes, Dongan Province was bustling with activity. After all, she had always lived in Chenggu County’s county town, which couldn’t compare to the prefecture.

Everything she saw amazed her, and by noon, she had gone straight to a noodle shop for some Instant Noodles.

She had seen this before; when her cousin went back to Chenggu County for exams, he brought quite a bit, but he treasured it, and Uncle Meng said it was his exam ration that couldn’t be touched.

So she had only heard about how delicious it was but had never tasted it.

This time, she surely had to try it.

She not only cooked and ate a meal but also wanted to buy two packets of dry noodles to take home, since they were good to eat dry too.

Luckily, Xia Yan stopped her in time, “Miss, these noodles are made by Lady Lu’s family. When you return to Jiangyuan County tomorrow, you can eat as many as you want. Why spend the money here? These noodles aren’t cheap.”

After all, they were a rare item, and with the ingredients being genuinely good, the price was indeed different from regular noodles.

Meng Han felt a bit regretful, but she thought it over. While she was traveling, even though she had brought all the savings she could manage, her cousin usually didn’t let her spend money. She still needed to be frugal, as she planned to delay her return for a few months.

After eating her fill, Meng Han wandered around Dongan Province.

However, she hadn’t walked far when she suddenly saw a few menacing people heading towards an alley ahead.

Meng Han’s eyes widened, “Xia Yan, Xia Yan, who are those people? They look like they’re going to start a fight. Come on, let’s follow and see.”

“Hey, miss,” Xia Yan sighed helplessly, having no choice but to follow, and gently said, “Miss, you’re unfamiliar with the people in Dongan Province and don’t know the situation, so it’s better not to meddle.”

“I know, I just want to watch.” Meng Han knew full well her capabilities.

It shouldn’t be a problem to quietly watch from behind and see what happens, right?

As they were talking, the two had already arrived at the mouth of the alley, and even if Xia Yan wanted to stop her, it was too late.

Meng Han peeked and, sure enough, saw those menacing people bullying others. Two girls were being cornered in the alley.

The two girls, one older and one younger, looked especially helpless.

Meng Han asked Xia Yan, “Are we really not going to intervene? Should we report this to the authorities? I…”

Before she could finish speaking, Xia Yan’s face suddenly changed, and in a flash, he rushed forward, throwing himself into the fight without a word.

Meng Han only felt a gust of wind pass by, her bangs lightly fluttering, and when she came back to her senses, all she could hear was the sound of fighting.

Her eyes widened, “…” Didn’t we agree not to meddle? Why did you charge in faster than I did?

Just as she was thinking this, Meng Han saw someone run past Xia Yan, trying to grab the two girls.

“Stop!” Meng Han shouted as she rushed over and kicked the person against the wall, reaching out to shield the two girls.
