The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1412: Chapter 1412: Meng Yunzheng Returns

Shu Yu sighed and said somewhat apologetically, “Aunt, I actually wanted to cook myself. But my cooking skills are really not great. Yun feels sorry for my efforts and would eat it even if it tastes bad. But I can’t torture you all. You’ve come from so far away, you should at least have a good meal.”

“Well, well, there’s no need to buy from a restaurant either. If you’re not good at cooking, you can assist, right? Let Aunt He cook instead?”

Shu Yu’s expression turned slightly cold with a hint of a smile, “But Aunt He’s hand was injured before, and it’s not convenient for her to stir the pan now.”

Aunt He, who had just handled the chicken and was passing by the living room door, “…”

She glanced at Shu Yu, then at Ms. Tao, and then rubbed her right wrist, “It hurts so much, it hurts so much, how did the old injury flare up just from killing a chicken? I need to find some ointment.”

Aunt He buried her head and headed to the kitchen.

Shu Yu looked at Ms. Tao and smiled, “It seems Aunt is not too tired, if you’re feeling bad about spending money at a restaurant, why not cook yourself? I have no problem assisting you, after all, you are my elder. And you know Uncle and Ah Han’s tastes the best.”

Ms. Tao’s face darkened, and Uncle Meng finally realized the atmosphere wasn’t quite right.

He frowned and pulled Ms. Tao aside, “What did you just say, how can you let Shu Yu assist Aunt He? It wouldn’t sound good if it gets out.”

Ms. Tao’s expression was stiff.

At that moment, there was a sound from the back door again.

Aunt He came out from the kitchen and ran to the living room, “Young Master Meng is back.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Uncle Meng rushed out first.

“Yunzheng.”

Meng Yunzheng, who was originally striding in with his head down, suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked up in surprise when he heard the familiar voice.

“Uncle?!”

“Hahaha.” Uncle Meng was overjoyed and heavily patted Meng Yunzheng’s shoulder twice, “Good job, you didn’t embarrass the Meng family, winning the top three, you’ve really brought honor to the Meng family.”

Meng Yunzheng seemed very relaxed upon seeing him, “Uncle, don’t praise me.”

The two chatted as they walked towards the living room, but as soon as Meng Yunzheng saw Ms. Tao, his relaxed demeanor disappeared.

Clearly, his relationship with Ms. Tao was not very good.

He walked up to Shu Yu and asked in a low voice, “How is it? Ms. Tao didn’t give you trouble, did she?”

Shu Yu smiled, “It’s fine, how did you get away? Didn’t they try to stop you?”

“They did.” But he pushed them away, after all, Yu said they should celebrate at home.

Who knew his imagined celebration would be ruined, not only Uncle came, but Ms. Tao also showed up.

Meng Yunzheng was a bit unhappy, but in front of Uncle Meng, he couldn’t express it too much.

It was only after entering the room and seeing Meng Han and Tao Qin that Meng Yunzheng frowned even more.

He looked at Uncle Meng, “And this is…”

Before Uncle Meng could speak, Ms. Tao hurriedly said, “This is Ah Qin, the daughter of my brother’s family.”

“I wonder what brings Miss Tao here?”

“Oh, Ah Qin hasn’t been feeling well these past few days, and since we’re heading to the prefecture, we brought her along to see a doctor in the prefecture. Yunzheng, you’ve lived in this prefecture for a while and are familiar with it, perhaps you could introduce a good doctor to Ah Qin and take her for a check-up.”

Meng Yunzheng suddenly wanted to laugh, Ms. Tao used to look down on him.

What is she trying to imply now?
