The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1415: Chapter 1415: Meng Han

Ms. Tao’s face darkened, and she glared at her viciously.

Ah Han lowered her head, still muttering a couple of sentences, ”I wasn’t wrong, after all.”

Shu Yu was somewhat surprised, glancing at her twice. She had previously thought that Ah Han didn’t like Meng Yunzheng, probably being dragged here by Ms. Tao. She expected her to remain silent until they left, but didn’t expect her to speak up for her.

Shu Yu reciprocated the kindness, using the public chopsticks to pick a chicken leg for her, ”Ah Han, eat more, you look too thin.”

Ah Han then lifted her head and gave her a smile.

”Alright, alright, what’s the point of saying these things? Yunzheng did nothing wrong, and Shu Yu also did the right thing. Both are people who distinguish between gratitude and grievances, both are excellent, how can one say they are malicious?” Uncle Meng slapped the table, looking at Ms. Tao and Tao Qin, ”Today is a day of great joy, why do you talk about such things?”

He wasn’t a fool and saw that his wife was targeting Shu Yu.

But he truly didn’t expect his wife was scheming for Meng Yunzheng, after all, in his eyes, Yunzheng was already engaged, and a man who’s engaged should be loyal and dutiful, that’s what makes a man.

In his heart, Meng Yunzheng was a hero who had endured for over ten years to avenge his mother’s death.

Therefore, he only thought his wife couldn’t stand Shu Yu, and thus instructed Tao Qin to say unpleasant things.

With Uncle Meng’s interruption, Ms. Tao and Tao Qin were at a loss for words.

The meal continued peacefully, but Yunzheng’s occasional care towards Shu Yu made Tao Qin’s eyes turn red.

The meal lasted for half an hour before Uncle Meng reluctantly got up from the table.

The sky had already darkened, and Meng Yunzheng didn’t keep them longer, ”I’ve asked Xia Yan to book two rooms at a nearby inn. I’ll escort Uncle Meng over.”

Fortunately, with today’s examination results out, many students who failed or passed had left, freeing up some rooms at the inns and restaurants.

He had given Xia Yan the instructions as soon as he returned, finding two upper rooms just about one mile from the small courtyard.

Ms. Tao supported Uncle Meng on one side, and said, ”Why only two rooms? There are four of us, plus Shu Yu and her maid. At least three rooms are needed. Yunzheng, have Xia Yan book another room.”

Yunzheng was already quite impatient with Ms. Tao’s repeated targeting of Shu Yu.

His tone cooled, ”No need, Yu will stay here.”

”That’s not appropriate,” Ms. Tao said, ”Although you’re engaged, you aren’t married yet. If word gets out about living together, it could harm Shu Yu’s reputation. Young people might not understand, but today as seniors here, we ought to remind you.”

”Seniors?” Yunzheng sneered, ”You’re certainly playing the senior card well today.”

Ms. Tao’s eyes widened, surprised he would speak so bluntly.

Getting a bit annoyed, she tugged at Uncle Meng, who sighed, ”Alright, this is Yunzheng’s matter, why are you interfering so much?”

”Do I want to interfere? I’m just doing this for their good. Yunzheng now holds a title, so his reputation is crucial.”

”Mother, if you’re worried, I can stay here with Sister Shuyu. That way, no one will say anything, right?” Ah Han spoke up again.
