The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1411: Chapter 1411: Ms. Tao

Shu Yu took the opportunity to sit down on the chair, smiling as she spoke, ”Aunt, you’re joking with me. Why would I hold a grudge against you? Ignorance is no crime, after all. You didn’t know my identity before. Now that you do, I believe you’ll treat me as well as you treat Yunzheng.”

Ms. Tao: ”...” Who wants to treat you well.

Uncle Meng nodded and laughed on the side, ”Of course, you and Yunzheng are engaged, so we’ll be family. Yunzheng is a good kid, and so are you. If you need any help in the future, just look for your Uncle Meng. If Yunzheng bullies you, I’ll stand up for you.”

His enthusiasm was a bit overwhelming for Shu Yu to handle.

Ms. Tao was even more exasperated; she gave Uncle Meng a fierce glare, but he didn’t notice, leaving her glaring at empty air.

Ms. Tao could only rub her temples, forcibly interjecting into his chatter, ”When did Monarch Lu Xiang get here? You...”

Uncle Meng: ”Why call her Monarch Lu Xiang? That’s too distant. She’s Yunzheng’s fiancée, just call her Shu Yu. No need for formalities in the family.”

Ms. Tao: ”...”

Shu Yu almost burst into laughter.

She nodded, ”Yes, Aunt, there’s no need for formalities.”

Ms. Tao just smiled, extremely annoyed with Uncle Meng’s unhelpfulness. But what could she do? He was her husband, after all, she had to bear it.

Being interrupted repeatedly, Ms. Tao suddenly didn’t know what to say to Shu Yu anymore.

It was the girl to the left, who had caught Shu Yu’s attention earlier, who suddenly asked, ”Lady Lu, why were you wearing an apron earlier? It looked like you were going to work, but don’t you have servants at home?”

Shu Yu looked up, ”And you are...”

Uncle Meng chimed in immediately, ”This is Ah Han’s cousin from her mother’s side, Tao Qin.”

Ah Han, who was the girl on the right, was rolling her eyes cunningly. She was Uncle Meng’s daughter.

The cousin from her mother’s side? So, she was the daughter of Ms. Tao’s brother, right?

This was getting interesting. Why did they bring a cousin here like this?

Ms. Tao, upon hearing Tao Qin’s words, immediately sat up straight, smiling as she asked, ”Yes, why were you wearing an apron, Shu Yu?”

Shu Yu glanced at Tao Qin, noting that she had lowered her head, then smiled and turned to Ms. Tao, ”Didn’t Yun just pass the courtyard exam? Such a joyous occasion deserves a celebration. So, I changed clothes earlier to help Aunt He make a good meal.”

Ms. Tao’s eyes lit up slightly, ”Oh, that’s right, then we must be interrupting you by coming here. You go ahead, don’t mind us. Cooking is more important, and it’s getting late.”

Shu Yu nodded, ”You’re right, it’s indeed getting late. Yun will be back soon.”

Ms. Tao was somewhat satisfied, thinking this girl knew her place. Yet, if she went to cook herself, covered in oil and smoke afterward, she’d surely be overshadowed by them.

However, Shu Yu just stood at the living room door and called out to Ying Xi loudly.

When Ying Xi arrived, Shu Yu instructed her, ”Go to a nearby restaurant and order a few dishes and have them delivered here. Oh, and get two jars of wine; I heard from Yun that Uncle loves to drink. You handle the rest, you know Yun and my preferences.”

”Sure.” Ying Xi turned and left immediately.

Ms. Tao was stunned, hastily taking a few steps forward, ”Weren’t you going to cook yourself? Why are you sending a maid to buy food and wine from a restaurant? The dishes and wine from restaurants aren’t cheap.”
