The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1145: Chapter 1145 The Family Rules

Yao An’s face was flushed red; from childhood to adulthood, he had never encountered such a situation.

He instinctively wanted to retaliate; just as he raised his hand halfway, he remembered the status of the person in front of him and instantly calmed down.

Then he began to argue, “Uncle, what are you doing? Why hit me for no reason?”

“You’re still pretending to be innocent.” Yao Po stepped out, sneering, “That maid has confessed everything. You bought that medicine this afternoon intending to drug Shu Yu. You knew her background was powerful and wanted to marry her, so you planned to make it a done deal. Shu Yu felt unwell tonight after drinking the tea you tampered with. What you didn’t expect was that Shu Yu took detoxification medicine and escaped the danger.”

As he spoke, Yao Po walked over and kicked him out.

“I don’t acknowledge a cousin like you, shameless and unscrupulous wretch.”

Yao An fell to the ground, unable to get up.

Yao Hong rushed over to help him, raising her head and cursing at them, “You’re talking nonsense. That maid purposely framed my brother. You want to wrong my brother without evidence and even hit him, on what grounds?”

“You want evidence, right? Fine, I’ll find it for you.”

Following these events, Yao Po began to uncover things bit by bit.

Yao An’s plan was indeed incomplete; finding evidence wasn’t hard.

Yao Po asked Zhao Xi to check if the medicine in his room and Shu Yu’s room’s tea were the same kind.

Yao Po’s side had already confirmed the medicine, but by the time Zhao Xi went to Shu Yu’s room, the tea had been replaced.

It was clear that Yao An had gone to Shu Yu’s room earlier and destroyed the evidence.

But it didn’t matter; Shu Yu had left a bit in a porcelain bottle beforehand.

Yao An never anticipated that, even when feeling unwell, she thought to leave evidence first.

Zhao Xi proved that the medicine in the two rooms was the same, and Wang Jiayi’s maid confessed that the medicine was stolen from Yao Hong’s room.

Yao Po led people to search Yao Hong’s place and indeed found the remaining medicine powder inside.

Then they began interrogating Yao Hong; arrogant and impulsive, it took little effort to extract the whole story from her.

From Yao Hong, they found the maid who had drugged the tea.

Shu Yu and Ying Xi identified her as the person who had come to change the tea.

With both testimonial and physical evidence present, Yao An had no way to deny it.

Yao Tianqin immediately had Yao An tied and brought to the living room in the front courtyard, where he sat in the main seat, looking down coldly at the person held below.

Yao Tianqin took a deep breath, “Yao An, you have truly disappointed me. I had always thought your father was cold-hearted, calculating, and sycophantic, and I disdained to associate with him. But you are the next generation. When I was exiled, you were still young and couldn’t influence your father’s actions. Our disputes shouldn’t reflect on you; you are, after all, a child of the Yao Family. Now I see I’ve been too lenient with you; with the father setting a bad example, the son follows; you truly are just like him.”

Unconvinced, Yao An squirmed; Yao Po’s heavy-handedness left him bound too tightly, almost suffocating him.

Yao Tianqin ignored his movements and continued, “Your actions have indeed brought disgrace to the Yao Family’s honor, bringing shame to our ancestors. As your elder, and since you are now staying in my home, I have the right to correct your mistakes. Po’er, bring out the family law.”

“Yes.”
