The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1142: Chapter 1142 Admiring Yao Po

The butler turned around to leave, and Yao An and Yao Hong tried to reach out to stop him.

Wang Jiayi, finally afraid, immediately lifted her head and whispered, “Don’t report it to the authorities. I’ll tell, I’ll tell everything.”

“Speak,” Madam Yao said angrily.

Wang Jiayi lifted her head and glanced at Yao Po, looking pitiable and frail, inviting sympathy.

However, the man in front of her showed no sign of being moved, even looking at her with some disgust.

At first, Yao Po was unaware of Wang Jiayi’s intentions. It was only after Ying Xi mentioned it that he realized.

Later, according to Shu Yu’s plan, he first awakened Ms. Kang, who was still asleep, to prevent her from being unprepared and startled by the noise outside later.

Even so, after hearing that Wang Jiayi was right outside their courtyard, he was furious.

Fortunately, the couple trusted each other, and after discussing the matter, they decided to follow the plan.

Yao Po was accompanying Ms. Kang outside for only a short while before he doubled back, and indeed saw Wang Jiayi sneaking into his room to poison the tea.

The tea was mostly drunk by Ms. Kang, who often felt thirsty after becoming pregnant.

If they went out and came back, she would be the most likely person to drink the water.

Since Ms. Kang was carrying a child, she couldn’t randomly take medicine, let alone tea mixed with such things.

If anything happened, both Ms. Kang and the child could be in danger.

At the thought of this, Yao Po only felt that Wang Jiayi’s mind was vicious, cold-blooded, and ruthless, no longer considering her pitiable at all.

Wang Jiayi’s pretense of vulnerability was useless, as Madam Yao was already urging her, “Hurry up and speak.”

Shu Yu added, “I advise you to tell the truth. If there’s anything unreasonable or suspicious, we’ll have no choice but to hand you over to the authorities. We may not be able to get the truth out of you, but the Office can definitely extract it with some persuasion.”

Upon hearing this, Wang Jiayi abruptly lifted her head and glared at her resentfully.

She had been crying out her grievances, hoping to find an excuse that would hold up.

But with Shu Yu’s words, she no longer dared to harbor any luck.

With a deep breath, she lowered her head and began to speak, “Madam, I was enchanted, and in a moment of impulse, I did such a thing. When I first saw Sir Yao Po, I… I admired him.”

Upon these words, everyone present except Shu Yu, Ms. Kang, and Yao Po was stunned in shock.

Especially Yao An and Yao Hong, who looked at Wang Jiayi as if she were a stranger.

A moment later, Yao Hong suddenly screamed, “Sister Jiayi, what are you talking about? Aren’t you in love with my brother? When did you start liking Cousin Yao Po?”

Wang Jiayi still kept her head down, quietly saying, “I did think I liked my cousin before. My cousin was always kind to me, and I thought the only way to repay that kindness was to marry him. But ever since I came to the capital and met Sir Yao Po, I realized what true affection is. I also came to understand that I only see my cousin as a brother.”

Shu Yu almost burst out laughing; the confessional sounded so much like a familiar white lotus revelation.

She couldn’t help but glance at the backup love interest, Yao An.

Yao An’s face turned bright red. He always believed that Wang Jiayi would never leave him, as she had stuck by him even when he had done worse things in the past.

So he flirted with other women without worry, never concerned that Wang Jiayi would fall for someone else.

Who knew…
