The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1137: Chapter 1137: The Yao Family Is Truly Lively Tonight

The Yao Family doesn’t have many servants, so to make care easier, all the female guests were arranged to stay in the back courtyard, while male guests like Yao An rested in the front courtyard rooms.

The front and back courtyards were separated by the Gate of Drooping Flowers, which would be closed at night, and old women would guard it.

Therefore, Yao An appearing in the inner courtyard meant he was most likely hiding in Yao Hong’s room all along.

This indicates that the plan to drug her was deliberately executed.

Ying Xi whispered, “Miss, they’re coming this way.”

Shu Yu nodded and said to Ying Xi, “Let’s go, let’s head out first.”

The two left the room and found a corner outside to hide.

Before long, they indeed saw Yao An rushing over with the maid.

Yao An pretended to knock on the door, but it opened as soon as he did. He glanced back at the maid, then entered the room anxiously, “Monarch Lu Xiang, are you okay? I just heard from the maid that you’re feeling unwell, you…”

The room was empty, the candlelight still flickering, but there wasn’t even a shadow inside.

Yao An frowned, “Where is she?”

The maid also looked utterly puzzled, then as if recalling something, hurriedly said, “Could it be that she felt unwell and went out to find someone to call the doctor?”

Yao An’s face changed slightly, went out to find someone? How could that be, what advantage does he have left?

“She probably hasn’t gone far, quickly check around here.”

However, by this time Shu Yu and Ying Xi had already left.

The night at the Yao Family was very quiet, unlike the Jing Family, which had plenty of servants and house servants patrolling.

Ying Xi asked softly, “Miss, what should we do next?”

Shu Yu was pondering, “What do you think Yao An would drug me with?”

Without waiting for Ying Xi to reply, she continued, “During the day, ever since he knew I was the Village Chief and knew Lord Qi well, his attitude towards me has changed a lot, not only being very attentive but also trying to find opportunities to get close. At first, I thought he just wanted to please me so I wouldn’t mind what he said before, but I didn’t expect him to drug me at night, so…”

Ying Xi, having grown up in an escort agency, had heard of many shady tricks from outside.

Even without Shu Yu finishing her words, she already thought of what the drug might be used for. Immediately, her face darkened, and she turned with a murderous look, “I’ll kill him.”

She was about to leave, but Shu Yu, quick-eyed and quick-handed, grabbed her, “Wait, no rush. If you want to kill him, it’s not good to do it at the Yao Family.”

Ying Xi took a deep breath to suppress the anger, tightened her lips, “Miss, what should we do now?”

What should we do?

This is the Yao Family, and Shu Yu didn’t want to trouble Uncle Yao and Madam Yao, who treated her well, but they ought to know about this.

She thought for a while, “Let’s find Aunt Yao first.”

Although it was late at night, there was no other way.

After speaking, the two headed towards the main courtyard, thinking as they went that there were indeed too few servants at the Yao Family.

However, before they reached the main courtyard, they saw a figure skulking ahead.

“Miss, that person seems to be…”

“Wang Jiayi.”

Shu Yu smiled, tonight the Yao Family was indeed lively.

Whether it was the Yao An siblings or Wang Jiayi, they were all very active.

Shu Yu looked at the direction Wang Jiayi was heading, seemed like… Yao Po and their courtyard.

Shu Yu immediately changed her mind, “Let’s follow and take a look.”
