The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1122: Chapter 1122: Coming from Dongan Province

However, Madam Yao discovered from the fragmented words of that cousin that they met the young lady on the ship.

This means she is not a resident of the capital.

Nanny Zhu was quite curious about this person’s background. After all, their Lord had spent the last five years in the southwest, besides those from the capital, it was likely that someone from that area could be acquainted.

Nanny Zhu assumed Shu Yu came from the southwest.

Unexpectedly, Shu Yu said, “My surname is Lu, and I’m from Dongan Province.”

Lu?

Nanny Zhu had never heard of it. The old servants of the Yao Family had already been scattered with the exile of Yao Tianqin, and the current servants in the residence were newly hired after they returned to the capital.

Therefore, Nanny Zhu was not very familiar with whom the Yao Family had any relatives or friends in the past.

However, she had been with the Yao Family for so long and had never heard of any relatives from Dongan Province.

While Nanny Zhu was deep in thought, she suddenly heard hurried footsteps behind her.

She instinctively turned around and exclaimed in surprise, “Lord?”

Upon hearing this, Shu Yu also turned around abruptly, indeed seeing Yao Tianqin rushing over with a face full of urgency, seeming as if he had just returned from outside.

Yao Tianqin lifted his head, and upon seeing Shu Yu, froze and couldn’t help rubbing his eyes, muttering softly, “Could it be that I’ve been seeing too many blueprints today and it’s blurring my vision?”

While speaking, he walked a few more steps forward.

This time he saw clearly, indeed it wasn’t his eyes playing tricks, the person from before was truly Shu Yu.

Yao Tianqin spoke in astonishment and delight, “Yu? Is it really you? How are you here, when did you come to the capital, and why didn’t you let us know in advance, so we could meet you outside the city?”

Shu Yu saluted, “Uncle Yao, long time no see. My trip to the capital was a spontaneous decision, knowing how busy you are, I wouldn’t dare trouble anyone to fetch me. Oh, and congratulations to you, Uncle Yao, for becoming the Minister of Public Works.”

Yao Tianqin laughed heartily, “You little girl, always so formal with Uncle Yao. Come, come, come, let’s go inside, your Aunt will surely be delighted to see you.”

“Alright.”

Shu Yu and Yao Tianqin walked ahead, with Ying Xi following behind.

Nanny Zhu was momentarily stunned, then hurried to catch up.

But this time, as she looked at Shu Yu’s back, her gaze had changed.

This young lady and the Lord seemed to be quite familiar. It’s known that ever since the Lord became the Minister of Public Works, guests have come in droves, yet when it came to ladies, he always just nodded and let Madam entertain them, rarely saying a word, let alone with younger ones.

Those in the know say the Lord is single-minded, still focused entirely on his official duties as before, and doesn’t enjoy socializing.

Those who don’t know might think the Lord looks down on them, which leads to unpleasant gossip behind their backs.

Even the cousin Young Masters who visited not long ago, the Lord merely inquired a bit about family matters and was quite perfunctory and distant. Unlike now, where he is smiling so freely and intimately, speaking much more, almost rambling.

“How is your father? After you all returned to Dongan Province, your father wrote me a letter, which only arrived last month, quite slow. In his letter, he mentioned plans to open a shop, is it up and running yet?”

Shu Yu smiled, “When I set off for the capital, it still wasn’t open. Earlier, my father was busy renovating my courtyard. He only started preparations after the moving celebration, but by now, it should be operating, and business should be good.”

Yao Tianqin was taken aback, calculating in his mind, then furrowed his brow, “Then you must have arrived in the capital long ago?”
