The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1140: Chapter 1140: Wang Jiayi Caught Red-Handed

Old Lady Zhang was interrupted by Shu Yu before she could finish speaking, “Aunt, the tea in my room indeed wasn’t brought up by her. Initially, there was a pot of tea in the room, but just as we returned, a maid came with a teapot, saying the original tea had gone cold and was replacing it with a hot one.”

Old Lady Zhang quickly explained, “How could that be? Nanny Feng heard that the girl had finished her cubilose porridge and had this old servant prepare the tea to put in the room. The tea was warm and didn’t need replacing at all.”

At this point, everyone present knew something was amiss.

Someone had switched the tea, attempting to harm Shu Yu.

Yao Tianqin and Madam Yao’s faces turned terribly grim. Shu Yu was their guest, coming from afar to stay for one night, only to encounter such an incident.

Fortunately, he had Doctor Zhao’s detoxification medicine with him, otherwise, the plot would have succeeded.

Madam Yao was furious and abruptly stood up, “Po’s wife, gather all the servants in the house and bring them here for Yu to identify. I want to see who had the audacity to lay a hand on Yu.”

After saying this, considering Ms. Kang was pregnant, she quickly changed her mind, “Forget it, it’s inconvenient for you, let Po’er go…”

Then realizing Yao Po wasn’t there, Madam Yao was taken aback, “Where’s Po’er?”

This is outrageous; with such a big issue concerning Yu, he disappeared without a trace.

Ms. Kang, feeling embarrassed, said, “Brother Po found out that Sister Yu was safe, noticed the wind was picking up, and went back to get me a cloak since we left in a hurry.”

While speaking, she also found it strange, “He’s been gone for a while, it should’ve been long enough for him to return.”

Madam Yao knitted her brows, now couldn’t bother with him, and simply called Nanny Feng.

The Yao Family didn’t have many servants; many had come running upon hearing the commotion, and the rest were quickly summoned.

Shu Yu looked at them one by one, furrowed her brows, and shook her head, “She’s not among them.”

Madam Yao was surprised, “Not among them? But all the servants in the house are here.”

Ms. Kang quietly said, “The servants brought by cousin Yao Hong aren’t here.”

Upon hearing this, Yao Hong jumped up as if her tail was stepped on, “What does sister-in-law mean by this? Are you suspecting us of trying to harm Monarch Lu Xiang?”

Though she said this, her reaction was a bit exaggerated.

Madam Yao couldn’t help narrowing her eyes slightly, while Yao An hurriedly grabbed Yao Hong, explaining to Madam Yao, “Aunt, don’t mind her, my sister didn’t sleep well in the middle of the night, so her temper is a bit short. I’ll gather the servants we brought and let Monarch Lu Xiang have a good look at them.”

Madam Yao nodded without ceremony.

Yao An turned to call for people, but his face darkened.

He hadn’t expected that Monarch Lu Xiang had some detoxification medicine, ruining his plan.

Fortunately, the maid was usually unremarkable, so dealing with her shouldn’t be too much trouble.

Just then, Cai’er suddenly rushed over in a panic, “Lord, Madam, Young Madam, something, something happened.”

“What happened?” Madam Yao felt her eyelid twitch, a bad feeling crossing her heart.

Cai’er took a breath, “Someone added poison to the tea in Young Master’s room and was caught red-handed by Young Master.”

The Yao Family was shocked, “What did you say?”
