The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1103: Chapter 1103: He Came to Deliver the Charges

Unexpectedly, after a few words, it was found that Meng Yunzheng seemed to have grievances against Gong Qiu.

This person immediately sent someone to report to the Third Prince, who was quite irritated.

He had exposed the affair between Gong Qiu and the Noble Princess Consort to the Emperor, but had not expected the Emperor to merely imprison them without any further action, even he was confined.

Later, he pondered and understood that the Emperor cared about his reputation and would not want such a humiliating affair to be publicly proclaimed to everyone.

Now the Emperor is not only angry with the second one but probably with him also.

However, it doesn’t matter. Even if the Emperor doesn’t want to lose face, the second isn’t his son, so he’s definitely not going to be entitled to the throne.

Without the second, with the Emperor’s health failing, he would eventually ascend the throne.

But the urgent matter is to pin down a crime on the second and his affiliates.

Unexpectedly, at this critical moment, Gong Xiao arrived. With his grievances against Gong Qiu, he might be a breakthrough.

The Third Prince found someone to inform Eunuch Xiping by the Emperor’s side.

Upon hearing that the opposite party was Gong Qiu’s son, Xiping hurriedly reported to the Emperor.

The Emperor had some impression of Gong Xiao, after all, Lord Jing had just mentioned him, and following that, news of Gong Qiu’s private meetings with the concubines came. It was hard for the Emperor not to remember.

”Why has he come? To plead for his father?”

Xiping whispered, ”Your Majesty, the Gong family still doesn’t know about Gong Qiu’s situation, being imprisoned in the palace, there might be other important matters.”

The Emperor coughed twice, leaning on the soft couch, his face pale and wan, looking extremely haggard.

He thought for a moment, nodded, ”Bring the person in.”

”Yes.”

Meng Yunzheng was invited to the Imperial Study, and upon seeing the Emperor, he quickly bowed his head in respect.

The Emperor looked him over, this son of Gong Qiu, surprisingly had grown into a fine appearance.

”Are you Gong Xiao?”

”Yes, Your Majesty.”

”What is your business with me?”

Meng Yunzheng paused for a moment, suddenly taking a deep breath, raised his head, and spoke resolutely, ”Your Majesty, I, a commoner, wish to accuse Lord Gong Qiu.”

He was here to deliver the charges to His Majesty.

The Emperor’s pupils shrank, he couldn’t help but sit up straight, ”What did you say? You want to accuse Gong Qiu? Gong Xiao, Gong Qiu is your father; accusing one’s father entails punishment according to Dasu dynasty law.”

Meng Yunzheng did not want to be punished, so he replied emphatically, ”I am not Gong Qiu’s biological son; one could even say, Gong Qiu is the enemy who killed my mother.”

The Emperor was taken aback, ”How so?”

”Your Majesty, I, a commoner, am Meng Yunzheng, son of Meng Pei from Quansheng Escort Agency in Tianning County. Years ago, Gong Qiu favored my mother’s beauty and bribed my maternal family, forcing my mother to become his concubine. Later, she caught the eye of another official surnamed Liu, and Gong Qiu sent her to Lord Liu. Perhaps divinely, on the night of my mother’s confinement, Lord Liu’s home encountered assassins, with most of the residence burned down. My mother escaped amidst the chaos.”

Upon hearing this, the Emperor suddenly paused, interrupting him, ”You said... Lord Liu’s home encountered assassins? How many years ago did this occur?”

”Twenty-two years ago.” Meng Yunzheng is currently twenty-one years old.

The Emperor’s expression changed rapidly, while Xiping, standing aside with his head lowered, thought, twenty-two years ago, wasn’t that Liu Noble Princess Consort’s family brother?

This explains it. Liu Noble Princess Consort’s affair with Gong Qiu, naturally would not tolerate other beautiful women around him and used her brother’s hand to attempt to eliminate those locked outside, which seemed reasonable.

The Emperor maintained a stern face, ”Continue.”
