The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1143: Chapter 1143: Wang Jiayi Encounters Shu Yu

Yao An was somewhat angry, and Yao Hong was even more furious, “Then why didn’t you say it earlier? We’ve been in the capital for more than a month now, and you’ve seen Cousin Yao Po long ago, why haven’t you said anything before?”

Wang Jiayi whispered, “I didn’t dare, Young Master Yao is already married, what good would it do for me to speak up? I just thought of keeping this matter hidden in my heart, so that no one would know, and it would just pass like this.”

“Since that’s the case, what are you doing today then?”

Wang Jiayi said, “This morning I heard that Sister-in-law Kang is pregnant, jealousy arose in my heart. Coupled with the fact that Young Master Yao happened to be home on leave, I couldn’t control myself for a moment and was driven to madness. I thought Sister-in-law Kang is already pregnant, so it would be proper for Young Master Yao to take on a concubine. It coincidentally stirred such a commotion today, I saw trouble on Monarch Lu Xiang’s side and this courtyard was deserted, my mind went blank at that moment, and in a fit of impulsiveness, I made a grave mistake.”

After saying this, she began to cry, her tears falling in painful regret.

This made Madam Yao, who was originally planning to scold her for being delusional, unable to curse her anymore.

Others were also looking at each other, some present actually believed her words.

Shu Yu found it amusing, she raised her head and exchanged a glance with the furious Ms. Kang, then looked at the increasingly disgusted Yao Po, suddenly asking, “Miss Wang, I have a question that I don’t quite understand. Where did you get the medicine you used?”

Everyone was taken aback, indeed, where did she get the medicine?

Yao Hong and Yao An shivered all over, suddenly coming to their senses from the shock of Wang Jiayi’s infidelity, and now they no longer cared whether Wang Jiayi liked Yao Po, instead fearing she might expose them.

Yao Hong glared at Wang Jiayi, while Yao An intended to step forward and change the subject.

But Wang Jiayi had already spoken, “That medicine, I, I asked my maid to buy it for me.”

Yao An froze, sharing a glance with Yao Hong, and both temporarily suppressed their actions.

Shu Yu cast a glance at them, continuing to ask Wang Jiayi, “Oh? When did you ask her to buy it?”

“I, it was, it was a few days ago.”

Wang Jiayi was not sacrificing herself to take all the blame, bearing it alone. She was well aware that if Yao An were implicated, it would truly be over.

At least if she were in trouble, Yao An would find a way to help her, keeping the origin of the medicine a secret and ensuring her safety.

Unfortunately, in front of her stood Shu Yu, someone who already knew the whole truth.

Moreover, both Yao An and Wang Jiayi acted too hastily, without a comprehensive plan, leaving much to be desired.

Thus, no sooner had she spoken than Shu Yu raised her eyebrows.

“A few days ago?” she asked with a smile, “Didn’t you just say you only thought of it today after hearing about Sister-in-law’s pregnancy, and planned to keep it hidden before then? How did you have the medicine prepared several days ago?”

Wang Jiayi was shocked, quickly saying, “I did indeed have the thought a few days ago, but, but it was only today that I made the firm decision.”

“Really? Then a few days ago, which specific day was it? I think with such recent timing, you shouldn’t have forgotten, right?”

This time Wang Jiayi was more cautious, choosing the time when the maid went out, “It was three days ago in the afternoon.”

But no matter how cautious she was, it was of no use, as Shu Yu quickly spoke, “Fine, then let’s ask that maid, find out where she bought it, how much it cost, what the seller looked like, and how she knew the seller had such medicine.”
