The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1125: Chapter 1125: What is her relationship with the Yao Family

Yao Tianqin thought about the chaos in the Ministry of Industry and ultimately did not insist further.

He nodded, “Alright then, Yu, you sit here first, and we’ll talk later if anything comes up.”

With that, before Shu Yu could react, he quickly left.

Shu Yu was once again pulled by Madam Yao to sit down and chat.

Yao An and Yao Hong both breathed a sigh of relief; just now they almost thought Madam Yao was going to mention the last time they drove someone away.

Although Yao Tianqin’s personality is somewhat honest and simple, the Yao siblings are somewhat afraid of him. Now that he is the Minister of Public Works, they dare not be reckless. Moreover, they still want to ask him to do things for them.

Now that he’s gone to work, they finally felt at ease and had the chance to scrutinize Shu Yu.

Madam Yao and her daughter-in-law were very enthusiastic about Shu Yu, their warm attitude was akin to treating her as a daughter of the Yao Family.

What background does this young lady have?

Yao An wanted to ask, but they were talking so excitedly that he couldn’t find an opportunity to interject.

On the contrary, Yao Hong, being somewhat arrogant, didn’t care what others were saying and directly interrupted, “Aunt, you haven’t introduced this girl to us yet, what is her relationship with our Yao Family?”

Madam Yao frowned slightly, a hint of annoyance flashed in her eyes.

Ms. Kang was a bit angry, unable to maintain the composure of Madam Yao, sarcastically raised her head and said, “You mean Yu? She’s the Village Chief appointed by the Emperor. Do you know about heating packs? It was our Yu who presented them, and the Emperor praised them highly.”

Village Chief?

Heating pack?

The Yao siblings were stunned. This girl who only brought one servant along, and could even sit at the bottom of the ship’s cabin, is she a Village Chief?

Whether it was the Yao siblings or Wang Jiayi, their expressions changed at this moment.

Ms. Kang was pleased to see them step back a few paces, secretly sneering in her heart.

She ignored them and just turned and spoke with Shu Yu.

They asked Shu Yu what her plans were for coming to the capital, and Shu Yu naturally avoided mentioning Gong Qiu’s matters, thus she said lightly, “Since the family affairs are done, and I have friends dealing with business in the capital, I came to visit them and to see around.”

Shu Yu pointed to the gift box placed aside, “My parents prepared these, they are specialties from our region, and they insisted I give them to you to taste.”

“You’re too kind.” Madam Yao waved her hand, but her smile was radiant.

“No, you were so kind to give me birthday presents beforehand.”

Madam Yao asked her, “Do you like them?”

“Of course, I like them.”

“Speaking of this, it’s thanks to Mister Qi. I and your sister-in-law prepared the coming-of-age ceremony gifts originally intended to be sent to the southwest. Who knew you all returned to Dongan Province, and for a while, we didn’t know your address. By the time we found out, the journey was far, and there wasn’t enough time. Luckily, Mister Qi also sent you birthday gifts, he had connections and directly delivered them to Lord Xiang at the county office, just in time for your birthday.”

Nanny Zhu on the side was a bit stunned upon hearing, birthday gifts? She did know about it; months ago she heard Madam and Young Madam mentioning that a good friend’s coming-of-age was approaching, and gifts needed to be prepared.

But those items were chosen by Madam Yao personally, and once prepared, she let others send them out, so Nanny Zhu didn’t know where they were sent.

So, that set of gifts was sent to Dongan Province for this young lady.
