The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1130: Chapter 1130: Great Ambition

Shu Yu, “…” your ambition is exceptionally grand.

“Isn’t her way of thinking too naive? Even if, hypothetically, you and Yao Po separate, given Yao Po’s status as the legitimate son of the Minister of Public Works, there’s no way she could be his next wife, right?”

Ms. Kang took a deep breath, drank another sip of water, and continued, “If she had the brains to think that far ahead, she wouldn’t harbor such thoughts.”

Back when Ms. Kang married Yao Po, Yao Tianqin was just an unknown minor official, and the family’s circumstances were quite ordinary.

Therefore, Ms. Kang’s maternal family couldn’t be considered of high standing.

Wang Jiayi felt that with a background like Ms. Kang’s, she could be Yao Po’s legitimate wife; why couldn’t she?

Moreover, Wang Jiayi didn’t know about things from years ago. She just thought that Ms. Kang had been married into the Yao Family for so many years without bearing a child. If it were any other family, she probably would have been divorced long ago.

Not only did Yao Po not divorce her, but he also didn’t have any concubines.

Wang Jiayi, being young and beautiful, and capable of having children, felt she was far superior to Ms. Kang.

In comparison, she felt she surpassed Ms. Kang in every way, and thus her ambition naturally grew.

Following Yao An was fine too, but Yao An’s character was mediocre, prone to wandering affections, and he seemed to have no prospects, being eighteen or nineteen and still just a child student.

Besides, Yao An’s family wasn’t peaceful; the Yao Family parents were difficult to deal with, as Wang Jiayi deeply felt.

But Yao Po was different. Before the Yao Family’s troubles, he was a Scholar. Unfortunately, these five years spent in the southwest caring for his parents and wife left his studies neglected.

But isn’t he back now? Not only is he back, but he’s also studying at the Imperial College. With a father who’s the Minister of Public Works and being the only son, his future is promising.

Moreover, both Yao Tianqin and Madam Yao are easy to get along with and not overbearing, and the Yao Family’s inner courtyard is clean. If she were to marry into the family, the future Yao Family would be under her control.

With all these comparisons, Wang Jiayi felt that Yao Po would be the best choice, and the opportunity was too rare to pass up.

Ms. Kang said, “Originally, I wasn’t aware of her little schemes. Wang Jiayi hardly speaks in front of us, like a little wife, only listening to Yao An and Yao Hong. How could we see that she shifted her focus? It was Brother Po who told me that Wang Jiayi seemed a bit frail, having fallen in front of him twice. He advised me and Mother to be cautious to prevent anything happening at home that we might be held responsible for.”

Yao Po has been studying at the Imperial College, and given the five years he neglected his studies, he naturally doubled his efforts upon returning, thus staying at the college initially.

Later, upon learning Ms. Kang was pregnant, he started coming home sporadically.

Nevertheless, he left early and returned late; unless it was a holiday, he was never home during the day.

Therefore, Wang Jiayi had very few chances to see him, and even though she knew not to rush, it inevitably caused some stir. After all, they didn’t know how long they’d stay in the capital.

But how could she know that Yao Po and Ms. Kang both thought she and Yao An were a pair, never suspecting she wanted to seduce him?

Moreover, he was entirely focused on his studies and Ms. Kang’s pregnancy.

He really had no energy to ponder the hidden motive behind her falling in front of him, even finding Yao An’s presence at home bothersome, bringing trouble to the family.
