The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1116: Chapter 1116: This Is Your Future Daughter-in-law

This spot in the outskirts was chosen by Yunzheng.

Originally, Madam Gong wanted to find a feng shui master to bury Song Xin in a place heavy with bad energy, intending to keep her suppressed forever, her soul restless.

Meng Yunzheng would never allow such a thing to happen. Even if it meant tearing his relationship with Gong Qiu, he wanted to find a feng shui treasure land for his mother.

Luckily, at that time, Gong Qiu still showed some care for the newly reunited Meng Yunzheng, as he worried that burying Song Xin in a place with poor feng shui might affect his son, or even the entire Gong Family, so he did not agree to Madam Gong’s suggestion.

The land before them truly is a feng shui treasure land.

The tombstone is neat, with no wild grass growing, and the surrounding area is well-kept.

Meng Yunzheng placed down the items he held and took out the pastries from the food box, laying them one by one in front of him.

He said to Shu Yu, “I came to see my mother once I returned from Jiangyuan County.”

It was then that he cleaned up the surrounding area.

“I told my mother that I found her daughter-in-law and I would bring her to meet her. I didn’t expect it to happen so soon.”

As he spoke, Meng Yunzheng turned his head and addressed the tombstone, “Mother, this is the Yu I told you about. I didn’t lie to you, did I? Is she not clever and lovely, unmatched in beauty?”

Shu Yu, “…” What have you been telling your mother?

She couldn’t help but rub her forehead and lit the incense, “Aunt, I am Shu Yu, from Jiangyuan County. My parents are ordinary folks. I have an older sister above and a younger brother and sister below, they’re all easy to get along with…”

Before she finished speaking, Meng Yunzheng beside her suddenly chuckled softly.

Shu Yu turned her head abruptly, “Why are you laughing? When you first formally met my grandmother, didn’t you also introduce who in your family there was?”

Isn’t this the normal procedure when meeting the parents?

Meng Yunzheng chuckled again, “Yes, you’re right, go on.”

How could she continue like this?

Shu Yu snorted softly and murmured a few words before stepping aside to give Meng Yunzheng space, moving away herself.

Only then did Meng Yunzheng slightly restrain his expression and lit the paper money.

“Mother, I am very happy today, Gong Qiu was beheaded, and I finally avenged you personally. Not just him, but also Noble Princess Consort Liu, the Second Prince, and the entire Gong Family, even those subordinates of Gong Qiu, were all captured in one sweep. None of those who deserved their fate escaped.”

“Mother, the matters in the capital are completely resolved, I plan to go to Jiangyuan County, which is the hometown of your future daughter-in-law. I’ve stayed there for over half a year now and am very familiar with it, and I like it a lot.”

“Once I settle down, I plan to take the civil service examination. You worried back then that if I passed the exam and went to the capital, it would reveal our family’s existence to Gong Qiu. Now there’s no need to worry, I will prove myself and make the name Meng Yunzheng known, and let everyone know he had a smart and kind mother named Song Xin.”

Meng Yunzheng rambled for a long time.

It was rare for Shu Yu to see him talk so much, it must be that he’s truly happy.

After burning the paper, Meng Yunzheng said almost all he had to say, and he extinguished the fire completely. Then he stood up, took Shu Yu’s hand, and bid farewell to his mother, the two walking down the mountain.

Halfway down the mountain, Shu Yu couldn’t resist turning her head for a look.

“Yun, should we move Aunt’s grave?”
