The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1134: Chapter 1134 Staying Overnight at the Yao Family

Shu Yu looked at the sky, feeling quite helpless. She considered saying she’d come again tomorrow, but then thought about Yao Tianqin being equally busy until the evening, and decided against it.

Madam Yao immediately instructed someone to prepare a guest room, inviting her to stay the night.

Shu Yu followed Yao Tianqin to the study, where he took out a box filled with a pile of blueprints.

Yao Tianqin seldom encountered someone like Lu Erbai who shared his passion, both being enthusiastic about woodworking.

Although he is now the Minister of Public Works, most people in the Ministry of Industry are solely focused on studies leading to official posts. Even those who are dedicated to work often get influenced. Especially facing a superior like him, they’re not very keen on expressing their opinions.

Therefore, Yao Tianqin particularly cherished the times back in Heichang County when he and Lu Erbai freely exchanged ideas. Unfortunately, Lu Erbai wasn’t in the capital, and correspondence was time-consuming.

Now, finally meeting Shu Yu, Yao Tianqin had so much to say.

He placed the blueprints in front of Shu Yu, “Take these to your father. I drew them after returning from the southwest. The ones below are the drafts, and the upper ones are modifications of the drafts. I always feel something is missing somewhere. Take them to your father later and ask for his opinion. Come, come, sit down. I’ll explain everything so you can relay it to your father later.”

Shu Yu, “…”

She could only sit down quietly, listening as Yao Tianqin explained each blueprint.

But explaining wasn’t enough; he also tested Shu Yu, afraid she might misunderstand anything and communicate it unclearly to Lu Erbai.

After confirming Shu Yu understood everything, Yao Tianqin sighed deeply and said with emotion, “If only you were a man, with such intelligence, you’d understand everything quickly. Reading and writing is effortless for you, and even participating in the imperial exams would be easy.”

Unfortunately, in the Dasu dynasty, there were no examples of women holding office.

Shu Yu forced a couple of laughs, quietly suppressing the fatigue in her eyes.

After listening to Yao Tianqin’s blueprint concepts, she still had to hand over Lu Erbai’s blueprints to him.

Luckily, her father’s blueprint was just one sheet, clearly marked, requiring no interpretation from her. Yao Tianqin understood it at a glance.

By the time they left the study, it was already between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Ms. Kang and Yao Po had both retired; only Madam Yao awaited outside. Seeing her come out, she quickly approached and said, “Yu, you must be tired. Your Uncle Yao is something else, getting obsessed with those precious blueprints without considering the hours, even having someone stop me from disturbing the study.”

Shu Yu waved her hand, “It’s fine.”

“I had the kitchen prepare some cubilose porridge. Will you have some before sleep?”

Shu Yu looked at the sky, it was indeed very late. But having had an early dinner and listening to Yao Tianqin for what seemed like ages, she was truly hungry. So she didn’t refuse and followed Madam Yao to the flower hall for something to eat.

As they entered the flower hall, a maid watching from afar immediately turned and ran swiftly in the other direction.

Before long, she stopped at the door of a guest courtyard, quietly calling, “Miss, Miss?”

The room door opened, and the maid quickly slipped inside. Besides Yao Hong in the room, unexpectedly, Yao An, who should have been resting in her own room, was also there.

As soon as Yao An saw the maid enter, she eagerly asked, “How is it?”
