The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1136: Chapter 1136 Someone Has Been Outside the Window

Ying Xi closed the door again, and when he returned, he felt the surface of the pot; it was indeed hot.

However, Shu Yu had just finished eating cubilose porridge, her stomach was full of fluids, and she didn’t really feel like drinking water. Moreover, the cubilose porridge was made just right, not greasy at all.

What’s more, although the nighttime temperature was low, Shu Yu still preferred to drink cold water.

She didn’t touch that pot of hot water, went straight to wash up, and when she came back, she was so sleepy that she fell asleep shortly after lying down, not remembering to drink water at all.

This sleep lasted for nearly an hour and a half; a low voice came to Shu Yu’s ear, “Miss, Miss?”

Shu Yu awoke with a start, asking in a low voice, “What’s wrong?”

“It’s a bit strange,” Ying Xi said softly, “Someone’s been coming by our window from time to time outside, listening in.”

Shu Yu squinted her eyes, “Did you see clearly who it was?”

“I looked closely just now; it was the maid who mentioned bringing a pot of hot water earlier.”

Shu Yu slowly sat up, “She’s listening under our window?” It was indeed quite strange.

As the two talked, faint footsteps sounded outside again, and Shu Yu and Ying Xi both fell silent.

Soon after, that person left again.

Shu Yu’s gaze fell involuntarily on the pot of tea on the table, squinting, “Sneaky, that pot of tea is most likely problematic.”

“Miss, what should we do now?”

“Let’s test it.”

Shu Yu had her light the lamp, the room brightened, and the candlelight projected through the window, indeed drawing movement from outside.

Once the person outside squatted under the window again, Shu Yu stretched lazily and got down from the bed, purposely saying to Ying Xi, “I talked too much with Uncle Yao before going to sleep and now I’m very thirsty, Ying Xi, pour me a cup of water.”

“Yes, Miss.”

Ying Xi went to the table to get the teapot, and although her movements were small, it was particularly quiet at night, making it sound especially real to the maid outside.

Shu Yu took the cup, pretending to take a few sips and it wasn’t enough, so she had Ying Xi pour another cup.

After drinking, Shu Yu laid back down again.

Ying Xi came over, suddenly exclaiming anxiously, “Miss, Miss, what happened to you? Miss, don’t scare me.”

Shu Yu rolled her eyes at her and said silently, “Your tone is too stiff, at least make it sound genuine.”

Ying Xi looked troubled, seeing the Miss sitting there bored, dressing, how could she express genuine concern? She wasn’t good at it.

Fortunately, the maid outside didn’t need her to be very emotional; hearing Ying Xi’s voice, she seemed relieved and muttered softly, “It’s done.”

Then she turned and left.

Shu Yu said to Ying Xi, “Follow and see, be careful.”

“Yes.” Ying Xi quickly followed the maid out.

Shu Yu dressed properly and simply tied her hair. Then she took a small porcelain bottle from her bag, poured out the pills inside, and wrapped them in a handkerchief.

She immediately walked to the table and poured a little of the tea from the teapot into the porcelain bottle.

After completing all this, Ying Xi returned.

Her face didn’t look good, “Miss, I followed that maid all the way and saw her enter that room of the Yao Family’s Miss.”

Then her expression turned slightly strange, “However, the one who came out with that maid was actually Young Master Yao An of the Yao Family.”

In the dead of night, Yao An was in Yao Hong’s room?
