The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1102: Chapter 1102 Meng Yunzheng Takes Action

As soon as Lord Jing left, the Emperor sat back on the Dragon Chair, took two deep breaths, and said to Xiping, ”Send Sanzhu, and bring those adulterers to me!”

”Yes.”

Xiping went out, and by the time the Third Prince led the captured Gong Qiu and the Noble Princess Consort into the Imperial Study with a smug expression, Lord Jing was already standing outside the Imperial Palace.

He turned around, looked at the towering palace walls in front of him, smiled, and got into the carriage parked outside.

Then he gave instructions to his attendant, ”After a while, go to the Gong Family and bring back Monarch Lu Xiang. I suppose she can’t wait until Lord Gong returns home.”

Though he said it was to pick someone up, it was actually to deliver a message to Meng Yunzheng.

The Fifth Prince had already made a move, making the Third Prince personally witness the clandestine meeting between Gong Qiu and the Noble Princess Consort. Now, whether it’s Gong Qiu, the Noble Princess Consort, or even the Third Prince and the Second Prince, they can all be caught in one sweep.

Lord Jing exhaled, many years of planning, I suppose it will soon come to an end.

He returned to the central judicial office, and the attendant went to the Gong Family.

When Meng Yunzheng saw the messenger, he understood the situation. He said to Shu Yu, ”Let’s not return to the inn for the time being. The capital has been unstable these days, so stay at Lord Jing’s house for now.”

”Okay.”

Shu Yu nodded, ”When will you take action?”

”After noon the day after tomorrow.”

Shu Yu was a bit worried, ”Be careful in everything.”

”Don’t worry, I’m well-prepared.”

Shu Yu could only nod and left the Gong Family with the attendant.

At the entrance of the Gong Family, they happened to encounter the doctor who was treating Madam Gong. The doctor didn’t look well, and it seemed Madam Gong’s condition was not optimistic.

That night, as expected, Gong Qiu did not return to the residence.

This left the awakened Madam Gong unable to find him to make any decisions.

Not only that night, but he didn’t return the next night either.

Madam Gong realized something might have happened. With such a big matter at home and Gong Qiu still not back, and no one from the Ministry of Industry coming to inquire, something must have gone wrong.

Madam Gong wanted to go out to find out, but as soon as she tried to stand up, she felt a wave of dizziness.

She couldn’t even get out the door, and when the butler learned of this, he said to her, ”Madam, the household is in chaos right now. You must take care of your health. Regarding Lord’s matters, I’ve already sent someone out to investigate. If you’re worried, perhaps... you could let the Eldest Young Master go to inquire for news?”

Madam Gong looked at him with a cold smile, ”What, you think I’m done for and want to turn your allegiance to him? He knows only a few people in the capital; what can he possibly find out?”

The butler hurriedly said he didn’t dare, but after leaving Madam Gong’s courtyard, he went to find Meng Yunzheng.

When Meng Yunzheng heard his purpose, his expression was a bit peculiar, ”You’re right. As the Eldest Young Master of the Gong family, it’s true I should go find out some news as my father hasn’t been back for two days. Alright, I’ll go near the Imperial Palace now.”

The butler nodded repeatedly, but after Meng Yunzheng left, he suddenly frowned—why does the Eldest Young Master want to go to the Imperial Palace? The Lord disappeared after the court session, not necessarily in the palace.

But Meng Yunzheng left quickly and soon reached the palace gates.

When he arrived at the palace gates, he looked around, unsure of what to do.

However, many people were watching outside the palace, including those from the Third Prince’s faction.

Upon seeing him, they stepped forward to inquire.

Meng Yunzheng hesitated and only said he wanted to see the Emperor.

The people from the Third Prince thought he was Gong Qiu’s eldest son and assumed he wanted to rescue Gong Qiu.
