The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 930: Chapter 930: Elder Brother of the Li Family

Madam Li has two older brothers, each with two sons, and they are all older than Brother Daniu.

Together with Madam Li’s father, their household males number seven, and with daughters-in-law both young and strong, managing over a dozen acres of fields is quite easy.

It’s also possible to spare one or two strong laborers.

As for hiring a few more people, Shu Yu had no objections, as long as they are truly diligent and easy to get along with.

Thus, she nodded her head, ”That’s fine, but I need to ask first.”

While they were talking, footsteps were heard outside the door, and Lu Dasong entered with Erniu pushing the door.

Madam Li didn’t wait for them to enter before instructing Erniu, ”Quickly, go to Li Village and find your uncle, tell him that your Sister Yu needs people to repair the big house in the county town, and ask your uncle to come too. There are wages, hurry up and go.”

Erniu was still somewhat stupefied, but he was promptly pushed out the door by Madam Li.

However, he soon understood. On their way back, he had heard many people talking about this matter and knew Sister Yu had returned to recruit workers.

Without delay, he turned and ran, rushing to Li Village.

Li Village is not close to Shangshi Village; running all the way there, wouldn’t he be exhausted to death? Moreover, Erniu had just come back from the fields without even drinking a sip of water; how could a boy of only eleven years old endure this?

Shu Yu immediately turned to Ying Xi and said, ”You drive him there, and by the way, take Erniu to my third aunt-in-law’s house to ask.”

She remembered that her third aunt-in-law’s brothers were also numerous, and if she were to recruit Madam Li’s maternal brothers now, Madam Liang would definitely compete once she found out.

It’s better to resolve all the trouble at once, rather than creating more issues.

After all, her third aunt-in-law’s brothers are also nice people and very approachable.

By that measure, it seems not a single one of her own maternal uncles is decent.

Ying Xi nodded and followed her out the door, leaving Madam Li grinning until her eyes narrowed.

As the courtyard door closed again, Shu Yu turned her head to look at Lu Dasong, ”Eldest Uncle.”

”Yu is here,” Lu Dasong said while standing at the doorway, brushing off the dust from his clothing.

Fan Zhong asked him from the side, ”Dasong, why have you just got back now? Village Chief Lu has been waiting for you for quite a while.”

Lu Dasong laughed heartily twice, ”After finishing the work in the fields with Erniu, I went up the mountain for a bit. The villagers couldn’t find us, and only when we came down did we hear the news of your return.”

He scooped up a ladle of water to drink a few sips, feeling refreshed, before speaking, ”I heard them say Yu is here to recruit workers. Is the house in the city ready to be repaired?”

”Yes, my father has prepared the blueprints already.”

Lu Dasong nodded, ”I’ll send Daniu to help you with the work later.” He himself couldn’t go as currently, only he and his wife were at home and during the busy farming season, they needed to take care of several acres of land, including calling Erniu and Lanhua for help.

Moreover, the ancestral graves on the mountain also needed to be taken care of.

Shu Yu did not refuse, as Brother Daniu had been helping her look for a shop these past few days and she didn’t know how it was going now.

However, Madam Li, twirling her eyes, asked her, ”Yu, if you’re hiring so many people to work, there must be someone to help with the cooking, right? Your family members are all busy. How about Eldest Aunt goes to help you?”

Shu Yu shook her head, ”No need, yesterday I bought more than ten servants from the agency, including cooks and kitchen maids. It’s already enough.”

Madam Li, ”...” more than ten servants??

Fan Zhong was also shocked, goodness, so many people?

Being a Village Chief really is different, such grand spending; one has no idea how much money it will cost.
