The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 917: Chapter 917 Lord Yu Arrives

Shu Yu stood at her own courtyard entrance and touched her chin. The figure inside just happened to hear some noise and turned around.

Their eyes met, and Shu Yu was stunned, ”Lord Yu?”

Why is he in my house?

”You know me?” Lord Yu was also somewhat surprised, then quickly realized, ”That’s right, you should know me. After all, Monarch Lu Xiang’s younger siblings nearly faced a disaster because of the Yu family.”

She even went to Ruan Family Village and destroyed a good part of the Ruan family, so those who wanted twins should have found out about it.

Shu Yu forced a dry laugh, no, I know you because I conned a hundred taels of silver from you.

She thought to herself, his silhouette did seem somewhat familiar, like a big sucker, and indeed it was.

She coughed lightly twice, with some surprise asking, ”Did Lord Yu come looking for me?”

Lord Yu nodded, ”Yes, there is something I wish to discuss with Monarch Lu Xiang.”

Upon hearing this, Shu Yu headed into the living room, ”Lord Yu, please come in and have a seat.”

Who knew that just as she entered, she saw two unfamiliar children playing with Dahu and Sanya, while the old lady was sewing doll outfits by the side.

Seeing Shu Yu return, the old lady stood up, ”Yu has come back. Lord Yu said he has something to discuss with you and has been here for quite a while.”

The two unfamiliar children beside her also turned their heads, appeared a bit nervous, and unconsciously ran behind Lord Yu, stealing glances at her.

Lord Yu smiled and pushed the two children forward, ”This is Monarch Lu Xiang, greet her.”

”May Monarch Lu Xiang be auspicious.” The two children obediently and properly bowed.

Shu Yu, ”...” This was the first time she was greeted in such a manner.

Shu Yu instinctively took out a few candies from her pouch, ”No need to be so formal. Continue playing, I have things to discuss with Lord Yu.”

The two children looked at Lord Yu, and only after he nodded did they follow Dahu and Sanya out to play in the outer courtyard.

The old lady brought a new cup of tea for Lord Yu and went straight to the kitchen.

Now alone in the living room, Shu Yu finally asked, ”Those two children are...?”

”They are foster son and daughter I’ve adopted.”

Adopted children?

Lord Yu laughed, ”To tell you the truth, I was deceived by others and was so eager to have children. They told me that if I adopted a pair of twins, my wish would be fulfilled. I entrusted this matter to the steward, but who would have thought that the steward was up to no good and resorted to improper means. To be on the safe side at that time, he selected two pairs of twins, one of which was your younger brother and sister. This is also a lapse in my discipline, and it almost led to a catastrophe. Here, I would like to apologize to Monarch Lu Xiang first.”

Shu Yu smiled, now that she knows I became Monarch Lu Xiang, he’s here to apologize. He never came to apologize before.

But then again, Lord Yu is from a wealthy household. Previously, the Lu family was just a poor farmer’s home. In his eyes, since the Lu family didn’t actually suffer any misfortune, of course, he wouldn’t come to apologize personally.

Moreover, since he reduced the rent for the shop so greatly, he has already made a gesture.

On this matter, Shu Yu truly didn’t hold a grudge. The main culprit was Old Lady Ruan; frankly speaking, Lord Yu was also a victim.

Shu Yu was just curious, ”Those two children outside, are they the other pair of twins?”

She indeed heard Madame Yu and her lover mention once when she eavesdropped on them that the other pair of twins was already on the way.

Only, after she impersonated a wise person and conned Lord Yu, he turned back in time, dealt with Madame Yu and her lover, and had the Ruan family smashed.
