The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 918: Chapter 918 Another Pair of Twins

Since Lord Yu had learned about the Ruan family, and knew of the twins from the Lu family, he must also have learned about the existence of another pair of twins from Madame Yu and the others, and one would think he intended to send them back.

So, this is... not sent back? And instead, he adopted them as his foster son and daughter?

Lord Yu looked toward the doorway, where several children were playing and frolicking, revealing a rare, gentle smile, ”Yes, they are the other pair of twins. I was once deceived by others, but fortunately, a wise person enlightened me. At that moment, I had a great epiphany and gave up on seeking another pair of twins, only wishing to do more good deeds to accumulate blessings for myself. As for the children, if fate did not intend for us to be together, I wouldn’t insist.”

Shu Yu, the wise person, lowered her head silently and took a sip of tea, concealing the expression in her eyes.

Lord Yu did not notice, and he continued to speak, ”I originally planned to send these two children back, but they had already been brought to my mansion. When I saw their gaunt appearances, I asked a few more questions. Only then did I learn that their birth parents had passed away, and they were living with their aunt and uncle, sold off by their money-grubbing relatives. Not only that, they were bullied at home, starved, and had a very difficult life. After investigating, I found the situation to be true, thus I was moved to keep them in my home.”

With this stay, affection developed.

Lord Yu wasn’t the type to interact much with children; he found them quite bothersome.

He truly yearned for a child, but was impatient with dealing with them, mainly for the sake of continuing the family line. No matter how unlikable the children were, it was unacceptable not to have any at all.

Therefore, he didn’t have much contact with children before, but after hearing the words of the Daoist nun, he changed. She told him that the child needs to feel the warmth of the home, to know that the Yu family welcomes them, so they would reincarnate into his family.

Following that, Lord Yu began to patiently interact with children. Just then, the twins also arrived at the mansion, and they became the children he interacted with the most.

What can I say, the innocence of a young child is truly a miraculous existence that can heal the heart.

When the twins first arrived at the Yu family, they were extremely timid, which angered Lord Yu. Later, he noticed they dared not eat much, sit long, sleep enough, or talk freely; they were always working, and they had many old wounds on their bodies. Then, Lord Yu felt sorry for them.

He began to exert great effort to correct their timid nature, gradually devoting more and more energy to them. The hurt caused by Madame Yu’s betrayal was pushed aside and became less significant.

Likewise, Lord Yu later adopted them as his foster son and daughter. He had them educated, taught them to read and write, and even went to the children’s hometown to confront their aunt and uncle, smashing their house, breaking their legs, and giving them a severe punishment to avenge his children.

Now, Lord Yu is quite content with having children. While he still wishes for his own bloodline, that doesn’t stop him from genuinely loving these two kids.

After listening, Shu Yu remained silent for a long while. Well, could this be considered her contribution?

But regardless, the outcome is good in the end.

”It is their fortune as well to have met Lord Yu,” otherwise, if they had stayed with their aunt and uncle, who knows when they might have lost their lives.

Lord Yu laughed heartily, ”It is my fortune as well.”

After playing the card of warmth, Lord Yu then brought up the purpose of his visit, ”Today, I have taken the liberty of seeking out Monarch Lu Xiang to discuss the matter concerning the shop on Ningshui Street.”
