The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 924: Chapter 924: The Anxious Old Lady

With that said, the old lady did indeed feel much relieved.

She assessed Hua Xian, the young girl looked quite obedient, seemingly not difficult to get along with.

”Well, that’s fine then.”

She had to stay composed, not to seem like someone who hadn’t seen the world, shrinking back in timidity would embarrass Yu.

Shu Yu smiled, ”Grandmother, though Hua Xian excels in back-opening massages and clearing meridians, I have not seen it myself. I will have Sanya fetch Zhao Xi to observe. If anything is not right, he can correct it promptly.”

Zhao Xi is a doctor, actually even more skilled at acupressure, but after all, he is a man and very busy. Now with Hua Xian here, the old lady could have it a bit easier.

Sanya was also already in the yard, curiously looking over Hua Xian and the other, upon hearing Shu Yu’s words, hurriedly said, ”I’ll go call Brother Zhao right away.”

As soon as Daya heard that Zhao Xi was coming, she quickly said, ”Grandmother, Yu, I, I am going to the clothing workshop, it’s very busy there lately, I’m going to help out.”

After speaking, she lowered her head and followed out the door.

Shu Yu and the old lady exchanged a glance and shook their heads with a smile.

In no time, Zhao Xi arrived; he had heard the story from Sanya on the way and nodded his head, indicating for Hua Xian to give it a try.

Hua Xian immediately became nervous, seeing this, the old lady reassured her, ”Girl, don’t be afraid, if you press the wrong spot, I won’t blame you, we’ll just correct it.”

”Alright, okay.” Hua Xian swallowed nervously, took a deep breath, washed her hands, and came back.

The old lady was still somewhat excitedly sitting down on the deck chair.

Erbai had already written the names, coming out to hand them to Shu Yu, ”If you don’t recognize anyone, ask your Eldest Uncle to inquire if they are available. If they are not, then let it be. If they are, then invite them over.”

”Alright.”

Erbai couldn’t delay any longer, after saying goodbye to the old lady, he prepared to leave.

Shu Yu was going with him. The family had two mule carriages, one was already taken by Daniu; she would have to use this one to go to Shangshi Village.

The mule carriage took Erbai to Fenghuai Street, and from there Shu Yu and Ying Xi headed straight to Shangshi Village.

Ying Xi was young, yet very capable, skilled in martial arts and driving the carriage, and also hardworking.

In just two days, Shu Yu was already very satisfied with her.

While chatting, the two arrived at the village. These past two days, Shangshi Village was particularly lively, with rumors of Shu Yu being appointed Village Chief spreading like wildfire. Despite it being a busy farming season, many still flocked to Shangshi Village out of curiosity.

Unfortunately, aside from the eldest family of the Lu household who were still in the village, everyone else was away, so those who wanted to catch a glimpse of the newly-titled Village Chief were out of luck.

Perhaps realizing there was no hope, Shangshi Village was much quieter today, not many people were seen on the streets.

But when they saw the mule carriage enter the village, and took a closer look and recognized it as the same one the Lu family had driven back a few days before, everyone suddenly straightened their backs and stared wide-eyed.

However, when they saw an unfamiliar girl on the carriage shaft, they became uncertain again.

Especially since the unfamiliar girl had an expressionless face, even if they wanted to ask, they did not dare, they could only follow behind the mule carriage.

As the carriage was about to reach the entrance of Lu Dasong’s home, it stopped; Ying Xi whispered to Shu Yu inside the carriage, ”Miss Er, the carriage cannot pass through. I don’t know what has happened, a crowd of villagers is blocking the way.”

Shu Yu lifted the carriage curtain and indeed saw many people standing at her Eldest Uncle’s doorstep, all of them seemed to be there to watch the excitement.
