The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 909: Chapter 909: The Medicine Given by Zhao Xi

Daya and Shu Yu shared a room, so Shu Yu was present during the incident that happened in the kitchen at dusk.

Daya thought that when they were alone at night, she would speak up and ask.

To her surprise, Yu just tidied up, turned over, and prepared to go to sleep.

It was actually Daya who couldn’t hold back, ”Yu...”

Shu Yu turned around, ”What’s wrong?”

”Nothing, nothing.” Decided not to say it after all.

Even though they agreed not to interfere with Daya’s decision, as an empathetic younger sister, Shu Yu felt she should still give some guidance to her confused sister.

After all, although Daya had been married, when it came to emotions, she was still a blank sheet of paper, inexperienced.

”Sister, if you think Zhao Xi is decent, then just wait and see how things go. If you don’t like him, we just tell him clearly, no need to worry about anything else.”

Daya was stunned; she did have her concerns.

”Yu, I’ve been married before.”

”So what, Zhao Xi doesn’t mind. He’s very familiar with the situation regarding Zhang Shu. When you divorced him, Zhao Xi also played a role in it.”

Daya was astonished, ”What are you saying? He helped out?”

”Otherwise, why do you think Zhang Shu and Zhou Jian were caught in bed by others? Is it possible that they didn’t notice so many people breaking into their room at all? They aren’t dead, and they were doing something shameful; the normal reaction would be to immediately hide upon hearing any noise outside, right?”

Besides, it wasn’t the middle of the night at the time, according to Zhang Shu and Zhou Jian’s routines, they should have already woken up.

Daya’s mouth fell open, ”So...”

”So they were drugged and thus fell into a deep sleep. That medicine was provided by Zhao Xi, and it was administered by Meng Yunzheng.”

Daya had long known that Zhao Xi was feigning ignorance, but she did not know that Young Master Meng and Yu had conspired to do so much behind her back so early on.

Shu Yu held Daya’s hand, ”So, sister, you don’t have to worry about these things. If Zhao Xi minded you being previously married, why would he come to you and say such things? What you need to do now is think carefully about whether you’d be happy and comfortable around him, just clear up your own thoughts; that’s enough.”

Daya opened her mouth but ultimately said nothing.

Happy around Zhao Xi? Comfortable?

She lay on her bed, recalling their journey together to the southwest, and the scenes of their time spent in Righteous Dao Village played back like a replay in her mind.

Daya only fell asleep very late into the night, and the next day when Shu Yu woke up, she could still see the dark circles under her eyes.

She didn’t ask much; after all, when it comes to matters of the heart, no one else can really help.

Shu Yu got up and washed her face; Ding Yuehua was going to pick her up shortly, so she needed to prepare a bit first.

The rest of the Lu family was also very busy: Lu Erbai was headed to the main house, Madam Ruan and Daya were heading to the tailor shop, the old lady was taking Dahu to see Master Wen, and Sanya was learning medicine; the family’s plans were clearly laid out.

However, before the Lu family could leave the house, a lot of noise came from outside the courtyard.

The old lady went to open the door; Shu Yu looked out and saw that the visitors were all neighbors from Liufang Alley.

Others didn’t know which house the Lu family had recently rented, but the neighbors from Liufang Alley knew.

They had learned about Shu Yu being appointed as the Village Chief yesterday and had wanted to come over, but the Lu family wasn’t home. So today, they took the opportunity of the early hour to come and offer their congratulations.
