The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 906: Chapter 906: Madam Liang Wants to Buy a House

Daniu and the other were dumbfounded, ”Yu?”

Shu Yu handed the money bag to them, ”I know you need to spend money to gather information, I can’t just order you around without compensating you, let alone having you cover the costs yourself. Take this first, if...”

Before he could finish speaking, Lu Sanzhu had already taken the money bag away.

Shu Yu snorted coldly, then silently pulled out another one and handed it to Daniu.

Daniu chuckled quietly, this time he didn’t refuse, ”Got it, we’ll be off then.”

Today when they went out to look for the manor, they actually visited the peach forest first, the news was gathered by the Third Uncle.

Whether there were any good manors for sale outside the city, this kind of information is not something the average person would know.

The people who play in the peach forest are mostly wealthy ladies and gentlemen, and of course, Lu Sanzhu couldn’t associate with them.

But their servants and coachmen knew quite a bit.

Lu Sanzhu spent some money on snacks to chat with these people, those were his expenses, Daniu vividly remembered Third Uncle’s pained expression at that time.

Now that Shu Yu had given them money, after Daniu brought people home, he immediately gave one tael of silver to Lu Sanzhu.

This single tael included both today’s and future spending.

Lu Sanzhu happily took the money and turned back home, pressing Dabao and Baoya to wash up and go to bed.

Only then did he turn around and notice Madam Liang seemed like a different person, quiet and still.

Lu Sanzhu was stunned and then suddenly remembered that she had been unusually quiet on their way home, immediately growing nervous, ”Honey, what’s wrong? Don’t feel well? You should’ve said so earlier. Zhao Xi is a doctor with great skill, we should have asked him to take a look when we were at Second Brother’s house.”

Madam Liang couldn’t help but roll her eyes, ”I’m not feeling unwell.”

”Then why do you usually quack like a duck, but today you don’t have anything to say?”

Madam Liang wanted to smack him right there and then, but the children came over, so she snorted coldly twice, ”I’ll talk to you about it later.”

Lu Sanzhu could only suppress his confusion and set about getting the children ready for bed first.

It wasn’t until both children had fallen asleep that the couple lay in bed and started to talk.

”Honey, go ahead and talk, I can take it,” he said.

Take it your head, she’s not about to die.

Madam Liang turned over and said to him, ”Husband, I was thinking, maybe we should buy a house in the county town.”

”Buy a house? Are you out of your mind? We have a good house in Shangshi Village, and we can live comfortably in a rented house here. If you ever miss living in a big house, you can just stay a few days in Yu’s mansion. Once she hires servants, we can even have a taste of living like a lord and madam.”

With this description, Madam Liang actually found the idea quite appealing and nodded longingly, ”Indeed, I also want servants to wait on me, I... I’m telling you about buying a house, don’t change the subject.”

Madam Liang took a deep breath, ”It’s just that today, after seeing Yu’s mansion, I couldn’t help but think about this. I just feel like having our own house would settle my heart.”

”You think too much, we’re too poor to afford a house in the county town,”

Lu Sanzhu curled his lip and then suddenly thought of something, frowning and asking, ”How much money do we have now?”

The money in their household was always managed by Madam Liang, who was better at handling money than he was, so whenever he got his wages each month, he would just hand it over to her.

Thinking about it now, he truly saw himself as a remarkably good husband.
