The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 905: Chapter 905: Ask Fourth Uncle

Lu Erbai even thought about whether he should team up with Craftsman Zheng to form a group.

But now it’s too early to talk about this. He took a sip of water and said to Shu Yu, ”Tomorrow after we finalize the drawings, we’ll start looking around.”

”Why not ask Fourth Uncle instead?”

”Yuan Shanchuan?”

Shu Yu nodded, ”Fourth Uncle mostly did odd jobs in the county town for most of his time, and he met and got to know a lot of people. He surely knows a lot about their characters.”

The Yuan family had many men but limited land, enough to cope even during the busy farming season. Staying at home all the time definitely wouldn’t earn any money, and Yuan Shanchuan often found work in the county town.

Lu Erbai’s eyes lit up, ”Right, how did I not think of that?”

He looked at Lu Sixing, ”Sixing, when you go back later, tell Shanchuan about it, and ask him to help me think about the candidates. I’ll go find him tomorrow afternoon.”

”Alright.”

Lu Sanzhu, not wanting to be left out, said, ”Erbai, I also know a lot of people in the county town, I can help you look too, it’ll just take some effort, I...”

As he was apparently about to seize the opportunity to make some money, the old lady snorted coldly, ”What kind of people do you know? You’re so lazy, and the ones you know are all lazy bums. Don’t end up not helping your brother but bringing him trouble instead.”

Lu Sanzhu, ”Mother, you really know how to tear me down. Although I am indeed lazy, think about it, my friends are lazy, so those who don’t associate with me, aren’t they the diligent ones?”

The crowd was momentarily at a loss for words.

But recruiting people based on such a standard is far from reliable.

Shu Yu shook his head, ”Third Uncle, you should just concentrate on helping me look for a manor. You’re already busy enough with work and finding a manor, not to mention finding people. You can’t split yourself into multiple parts to manage all these tasks. Dad will find a few people from the village, and with a few people that Fourth Uncle finds, that should be enough. We can renovate slowly, no rush. Better to have fewer people then.”

Lu Erbai then exchanged a glance with the old lady, opened his mouth, but eventually did not speak.

Shu Yu didn’t notice this scene, but Meng Yunzheng did.

He pondered for a moment, and then it dawned on him.

The beginning of June is Yu’s birthday and also her Coming-of-age Day. Apparently, the Lu family wants to have the house renovated before her Coming-of-age Ceremony.

Shu Yu hadn’t thought about this. She asked again about the manor, and Daniu said, ”I went to see the suburban area this afternoon according to your requirements, but haven’t found anything suitable yet. I will go further out to look tomorrow.”

”Thank you for your hard work, Brother Daniu.”

Lu Sanzhu wanted to say he also worked hard. He then remembered that he had to go to work tomorrow, so he sighed softly.

After all, it was not good to keep taking leave. Although boss Ji would definitely agree, if people found out, they might talk behind his back, thinking he was leveraging Yu’s status as the Village Chief’s relative to slack off at work, which would not look good on Yu’s reputation.

He was a far-sighted person, after all, and must not lose the bigger picture over small conveniences.

Time to eat, have to work tomorrow, better eat more meat today.

As a result, he overate, and almost tripped as he went out.

Luckily, he didn’t need to drive back himself; Daniu would take them home. He would need to go out of town to look for manors tomorrow, hence the mule carriage needed to be driven by him.

It was getting late, the members of the second household walked them out.

Shu Yu stood at the forefront, watching Daniu and Lu Sanzhu get into the mule carriage, then pulled out a money bag from her bosom.
