My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2387: Chapter 2222: Hard to Part, Hard to Let Go

Every departure is heartbreaking.

Zhang Yichen decided he should go find his father and have a good talk. If his father truly refuses to change, then they need not return to this house. Coming back has already brought too many disputes and troubles, and his grandfather has been hurt. His grandfather can no longer live happily like before. Yet why does he, time and time again, can’t help but want them to come back here? Is it really because they’ve abandoned him for so many years, leaving him missing the love of parents, that he has chosen to forgive them without any limits?

But even so, no one can harm his grandfather. If his grandfather really leaves here, how much pain would he feel?

Grandfather is the one who gave him a second life, who painstakingly raised him, who gave him the achievements he has today. Everything is due to his grandfather and has nothing to do with his parents. So why does he keep hurting his grandfather for his own desires? His grandfather did nothing wrong, but his desires have caused too much hurt; should this tragedy continue?

Impossible, this tragedy cannot continue. If it does, what should we do then?

Zhang Yichen was preparing to find Zhang Zhentian and happened to walk towards Old Master Zhang’s bedroom. He decided to discuss this matter with his father, but unexpectedly encountered his son.

”Dad, I think there are some things we should talk about. You’ve been back here for only a few days, why have so many things happened already? I don’t want to tell you off, nor do I want to be angry with you. But do you know? What you are doing now has seriously affected grandfather’s life. Look at how lonely and miserable grandfather is. What did you say to him that made him like this? Did you come back just to bully and hurt grandfather?”

”If it weren’t for the things you did repeatedly, would I have stopped you from coming in or shut you out? You do everything without acknowledging your faults and want to push all the blame onto your family. What do you want? How many people do you plan to hurt?”

”Dad, you are my father and the pillar of our family, no matter what you are part of this family. You should be protecting everyone here, not hurting them. Your actions have hurt everyone in the family, don’t you think it’s unfair to us?”

”I saw grandfather wiping tears alone in his room. Do you know how heartbreaking that is for me? After all these years, he has become numb. He hasn’t cried for a long time, yet because of your actions he cried again. This time, for what? What did you say to grandfather? Can you tell me what happened? If you have issues with me, it’s okay to say it directly to me, don’t upset grandfather.”

Zhang Zhentian didn’t expect his son to care so much about his grandfather. But what has he done over the years? In comparison, he has fallen far behind, never thinking about how he should treat his father correctly. Yet his mistakes over the years have made everyone look down on him, causing sadness. What should he do?

”Maybe you misunderstood. I lost control of my emotions and said those things to grandfather. I’m preparing to explain myself to him properly, don’t be so agitated. I was wrong, and I promise I’ll give grandfather a satisfying answer and reasonable explanation. If you’re worried, you can come with me.”

”We didn’t intend to hurt you by coming back, but some things happen regardless of our intentions. What we aim to do is to ensure our family doesn’t keep getting hurt, but we’re not Saints. I know my past mistakes can’t be easily forgiven, and I realize you can’t forget those old grievances. But what can I do? I can only grit my teeth and stay here, keep being with you, bearing it because I want to stay close to you all.”

”I don’t know why you stay, but if this is the kind of companionship you’ll provide, then we don’t need it. Such companionship only brings sadness and pain to our family. Don’t you see how much your actions hurt grandfather? Now that he’s like this, how do we end it? You’ve never considered how much your family suffers because you only care for your interest. You think your interest is everything, but what do you gain from it? It only results in everyone’s pain.”

”You should really think about why you return to this family. If it’s to let us live happily, then please think carefully about what you say, which words to speak and which not to, considering if they make your family feel unwelcome.”

”I won’t say more here, I just hope you treat this sincerely. No matter how you treat me, I don’t care. But grandfather is different. He gave me a second life, leading me towards my achievements. He’s my benefactor, guiding me on my life path, preventing me from continually losing my way.”

”But if you harm grandfather again, I will kick you out without mercy. In my heart, nothing is more important than grandfather. Even if I sacrifice all my finances, give up my company and wealth, I’ll do anything to make grandfather happy, because his happiness is above all...”

Leaving parents only brings more reluctance.
