My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2367: Chapter 2200: Victory and Defeat

Sometimes winning or losing isn’t that important.

Neither of them could have imagined that their happiest marital relationship would become so difficult at this moment. Simply wanting to maintain the original state was absolutely impossible, and nobody thought this day would come so early. In fact, they had already been mentally prepared, but never expected this day to arrive so inexplicably and suddenly, catching them off guard.

”Perhaps life is like this, when we face difficulties, we never know when calamity will strike. Perhaps soon, perhaps never in a lifetime. No one can make decisions for heaven. Since we’ve already encountered the calamity that couples should face, we can only choose to face it calmly, but I really can’t easily forgive you. My heart is also in pain, also conflicted. I, too, have endured too many difficulties and hardships, which you haven’t experienced!”

Zhang Yichen really didn’t know how to communicate with his wife. A very simple truth, why couldn’t it be understood in his eyes? Why must he create a mess over an issue that could be solved with just one sentence, making everyone restless?

”Do you really think that making this decision is good for our relationship? Do you really think that everything you’re saying now is for our child’s sake? It’s not at all. You’re actually the most selfish person, only thinking about your inner desires without considering what kind of life our child wants. He chose to accept devilish training, only to prove to everyone he has the right to inherit all my assets.

I understand that no mother in the world doesn’t love her child. As long as a mother sees her child suffer even a little, her heart aches like a knife twist. But not everyone in the world has that kind of maternal love. Seeing how you treat our son, I’m truly happy. Moreover, he’s the fruit of our love, but do you know that sometimes a child can slowly head down the wrong path due to a mother’s indulgence? He isn’t a Saint; a child can’t discern right from wrong. He won’t know whether what he’s doing is right or wrong.”

”I know everything you’re saying makes sense, and I know I can’t argue with you. But can you please have mercy and forgive me this once? Don’t keep entangling me in the same issue over and over? I’m really tired; I just want to live my life peacefully.

Can you give me a chance? Don’t make me live in such pain every day. I’m not a Saint; I can’t withstand the one I love saying such heartless words to me again and again! I’m also a woman, hoping for my husband’s love!

Why don’t you men ever understand your wives’ hardships? Why must you stubbornly harm those you love most? Don’t you know, those you hurt are always your loving wives? How can you bear to watch your wife cry time and again, while remaining indifferent?”

”Stop it. Do you think saying these words to me now makes any difference? If you knew earlier, then why did you treat me this way in the first place? You’ve never considered that under such treatment, it was because of your mistakes that I treated you like this. You always know when you’ve been wronged by others, but don’t reflect on how your actions may have hurt others.

People do unto others as they would have done to themselves. How you treat me is how I will treat you—isn’t that normal? If you continuously enjoy others’ kindness while remaining indifferent, hurting others again and again, then do you think you have any right to live here? Don’t you find living like this exhausting? You’re constantly thinking only of my kindness to you, but what about you? Are you wholeheartedly thinking about our life together? You aren’t, are you? You’re always thinking of how to deceive me. Is deceiving me the best thing in your heart? Do you really hope to see me deceived by you time and again, while I foolishly enjoy it?”

Ran Zhihan kept shaking his head, as if a rattle-drum, unwilling to accept he’d ever think of this, never thinking he’d become like this one day. He just hoped to live a happy life with his husband, to stay home and teach children—why is it so hard?

Why did he face trial after trial this year, particularly during this period? He couldn’t understand why his husband treated him this way, his son likewise. As a mother, clearly concerned about her son’s health, yet the child still chose to continue with devilish training.

This left him as a mother worried, unable to be at ease inside.

”Yichen, let’s not say anything more. At this moment, let’s let go of past grievances, not hold onto them. Start afresh from this moment, let us return to our initial happy life. If you’re willing, then let’s go home. If not, it’s okay; I won’t insist on a man who doesn’t love me staying by my side. You should know how much I care about whether we can be happy together. It’s so important for a woman! I cannot endure my husband giving me a cold face every day, unwilling to look me in the eye. You understand how hurtful that is?”

Zhang Yichen originally wanted to return to the initial life with his wife. Now hearing his wife take a step back, why wouldn’t he agree? He isn’t the type to pretend to be noble. Since Zhihan said these words, might as well follow the ladder down rather than making things awkward for both.

”Zhihan, of course I’m willing. I’ve always hoped our lives could continue. Since you said we should let go of past grievances, then why should I persist? Persistence isn’t my specialty; I won’t foolishly expect my woman to bow to me endlessly—that’s impossible. So don’t worry, I should be able to love you well!”

But winning or losing with an ex is very important!
