My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2365: Chapter 2198: Dignity

I don’t force myself for a laughable sense of dignity, only to live a wonderful life.

The past we can never return to, when seeing you again, you’re both strange and familiar, and my tears, maybe they’re because I’m truly happy!

Some love remains an eternal secret, so beautiful that it stays in memories.

Xiao Wei doesn’t know where he heard it from, but ever since his sister and brother-in-law returned home, his parents don’t like him; even though their biological son showed such deep affection in the hospital, he was still treated coldly after going back.

This was almost unbelievable to him, that the person who was crying so truly and openly in front of him could exhibit such an attitude once back home.

How could he turn into this towards his parents as soon as he got home?

He really couldn’t understand, is this still the nephew he knew?

He really wanted to find his sister and brother-in-law to ask clearly, what was the point of this outcome returning home? Are they happy with this result?

In fact, for Xia Jing, she still feels happy with such an outcome.

After all, she wished to be back by her family’s side, to accompany her son, and for her, this result was already beyond expectation, how could she be so greedy?

Only those who have lost would understand how serious the mistakes were, only those who lost would know how important the lost people and things are.

Li Jiayuan knew that, deep down, Xiao Wei felt bad, after all, it was his sister, even without blood relations, but how could he forget such sibling affection over the years?

”Xiao Wei, do you know Elder Sister Xia Jing’s thoughts?

She must be smiling even in her dreams now!

She waited so many years to finally return home, no matter what the outcome is after returning, she will be happy. That’s the home she longed for, day and night, for decades!

Just because of a deviation in thought at the time, she ended up like this, we can’t help her, nor can we prevent her from getting hurt.

Xiao Wei, sometimes things have to move forward, if your data is here, do you think persisting this way does any good for you? You’ve never considered what kind of harm your family might suffer, maybe you feel momentarily at ease, but the harm she endures could be even greater; you should think about her perspective and what she would bear. The result shouldn’t be about just your thoughts, ignoring others’ safety!

I know you’re worried about your sister, just as I’m worried about her. After all, she’s become a good friend of mine, no matter what happens, she’s my confidante. How could I possibly ignore all her matters, not caring, not asking, not concerning myself?

I just don’t know how to communicate some things to her, will she become as hurt as before if I tell her? Will she be chased out of her home again like before? ⅇℯ𝚕.

As long as we can live peacefully as before, without interfering in their lives with each other, maybe with the passage of time, the many grievances between them will dissipate. If our involvement instead exacerbates the disharmony in their family’s relationship, wouldn’t that be a deep-seated guilt for us?”

Xiao Wei knew his wife cared as much about his sister as he did, concerned about their family’s life. But he felt his wife was truly right this time; no matter what his relationship with his sister is, he shouldn’t interfere or ask questions. Once asked, the nature of matters would change, and it wouldn’t be easy to wrap up. If his involvement really causes his sister greater harm, wouldn’t his own guilt be even heavier? 𝖿𝖗ⅇℴ𝑚

”You’re right, I shouldn’t intervene or ask about these matters, nor should I get involved; let them resolve their family matters. If my involvement causes them to end up that way, I couldn’t wash away the blame even by jumping into the Yellow River. I just want to help them a bit, don’t want to end up hurting them instead!

Perhaps we should just quietly live our own lives without interfering in their relationships, then maybe as time passes, the ones who were once hurt will change from before. If due to our mistakes, they suffer even heavier blows, what should we do then?

These years, he really hasn’t had it easy as you said, even if returning home now is bitter and exhausting, even if it’s painful, deep down in his heart it’s sweet, but he hasn’t lived such a happy and joyful life as he does now. In his eyes, what he wants really isn’t much; as long as he can peacefully return home and stay by their family’s side, he feels he’s happy!

Sometimes I truly don’t understand what kind of mindset my sister has, to think such a life is what she wants, but watching her live so happily and joyfully, I too am somewhat soft-hearted. No matter what, she made it through life today through her own efforts, struggled step by step without relying on others’ charity. She declared to the world with her own actions, she can succeed with her own efforts, even as a woman!”

Li Jiayuan couldn’t help but sigh at Xia Jing’s life, from the day she met her, she knew this woman wasn’t simple. Her life wasn’t as frequent, nor as easy. She walked step by step to today, but she had never seen her living happily and joyfully.

”Perhaps the life unknown to us is the life she most wants to live. Seeing her in such pain, do you think our practice is really comfortable? But seeing her so happy, so joyful, she forgets all her pain and troubles deep down. As long as she’s happy, that is happiness; why should we interfere with so many of her matters?

She’s just experienced a life-and-death ordeal, for her, all she wants is to cherish the time she has left.

Because now she understands, time is precious, and living peacefully isn’t easy. If she doesn’t work hard, what reasoning does she have to continue living, what would the outcome of life be in the end? No one knows, everyone’s life journey is explored step by step, it’s not like someone laid out the entire path for you from the start, so you can easily navigate through all life’s hurdles!

Xiao Wei, we’re spouses, but some matters really shouldn’t interfere with others, as others will only bring disaster. I hope you’ll think carefully!”

Once I wished the whole world knew I loved you deeply, yet in the end, we weren’t together, maybe it was fate?

Now I hold you dear in my heart, how I wish you could return to me soon!

In the end, all the sadness is finally let go.
