My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2352: Chapter 2185: Rainy Day

Days will always pass, and we will always grow.

”Zhentian, we shouldn’t resent our father. Whatever decision he makes is his right. The mistakes we’ve made, no matter who it is, cannot be easily forgiven like it was nothing. Just like how disappointing the decisions we once made were, to abandon your own child. I realize now how cruel one has to be to make such a decision. How could I bear to abandon my own child? What has consumed me? How could I be so cruel to my child?”

”Now, returning here, having my son willing to forgive me is already not easy. Why should I worry so much? Wanting my child to forgive me, and hoping my father truly accepts me, it’s fundamentally not an easy thing. The heavens are watching as we discover so many mistakes. Being able to return to this household is already a mercy from above. We just need to sincerely treat our father and accompany our child, contributing to this family. Let’s make this home happy, joyful, and filled with laughter. Perhaps the heavens will allow us genuine forgiveness!”

”Perhaps what you say is right. As long as we fill our hearts with love, loving everyone in this house sincerely, giving our all, maybe we will earn the heavens’ forgiveness. It might even bring our father’s genuine acceptance. But how long do we have to wait for that day?”

”I fear that one day, I might never see that day before I die. What I wish now is for my father to forgive me, allowing me to genuinely return to this home. For others, it may seem too simple, but for me, it is extremely difficult. The deep-seated prejudice my father holds against us due to our repeated mistakes is really great. He can reluctantly forgive us and let us return, but for him to truly cherish acceptance of us is really hard!”

We’ve done many wrong things, made many mistakes. Our desired life is really simple, without so much. We just want others to truly understand our sincere intentions. But ultimately, our approach was always wrong. We used kindness to do some bad things, hurting someone, repeating it again and again, yet never truly understanding where we went wrong, just continuing to err.

Now, I don’t expect true forgiveness from my father, nor do I hope he genuinely accepts us back into the family. All I wish for now is personal happiness, and for everyone in this household not to be so sad and miserable, but to live joyfully. I hope to bring them this joy, rather than causing them pain repeatedly!”

Old Master Zhang listened to the conversation between his son and daughter-in-law. As a father, how could he not feel anything? Over the years, only he knows how much he has truly missed his children. Time and time again, he almost forgot what kind of life he wanted. He almost forgot why his son left initially. The only thing he remembers is on the day his son left, he said he would never return to this household again. That sentence was something he could never forget in his life. For a father, it’s a deep internal pain—his son clearly in front of him but unwilling to look back at him even once!

”The two of you do the same things here every day, cleaning the house, doing chores. Are you really not tired? Or do you think doing this will earn my genuine forgiveness? Actually, it’s impossible. I know the outcome better than anyone!”

”When you chose to leave this household, you already abandoned everything here. No matter what happened in the family, it had nothing to do with you. Your actions deeply hurt everyone in the family. Do you know how much your previous actions have given everyone heavy blows?”

”Family isn’t something you can hurt as you wish, and after hurting, hoping to come back with a simple ’sorry’ to solve everything. ’Sorry’ isn’t omnipotent.”

”If I had shut the door on you, and easily said ’sorry,’ would you really think I was sincerely apologizing? Would you feel when I asked you not to enter the house, it wasn’t intentional? Would you forgive all the prejudices and grudges against me because of one ’sorry’?”

”The truth is, deep down you know the answer is no, because no one truly forgives someone just because of a ’sorry.’ That kind of forgiveness isn’t real forgiveness. The mistakes made have to be proven with real actions to show genuine understanding, to seek forgiveness, not through flippant apologies, expecting everyone to sincerely forgive and accept you, that’s unrealistic!”

”Over these years, you know the mistakes you’ve made better than anyone. It’s not that anyone can truly forgive you. Your son has truly set aside all prejudice because he feels happy that his parents are willing to return to him. This proves his parents really love him, but for me, I cannot. As a father, I watched him grow, I felt how difficult his life was. He was in pain every day, yet he never spoke of it.”

”For all the things you’ve done, the person you should apologize to isn’t me, but your child. I let you return to this family really for his sake. I can’t bear him losing his parents again and again. He now has his own family and career and should have his parents by his side. Moreover, his child hopes for grandparents’ presence.”

”As for the forgiveness you hope to receive from me, you might never get it in your life. If you feel very tired, you don’t have to do these things. If doing them is to gain my forgiveness, then you can stop!”

Life makes you weary, but it also brings happiness.
