My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2385: Chapter 2120: Pain

I care about my family and my loved ones more than anyone else.

”Zhentian, are you really so foolish? You were never like this before. Though I always liked to say you were too naive and acted without careful consideration.

But why, when doing this today, did you not consider the end result from deep within your heart? You hardly thought about what your father would think; you only had eyes for me. Am I really that important as a wife in your eyes? Your father is the one who gave birth to you and raised you. He labored hard to bring you up and it’s not easy at all. But I am just a piece on the chessboard that you brought home; if you lose a wife, you can always find another. But if you lose a father, he is gone forever. Why can’t you think about your family’s feelings sometimes?

Even though you care about me so much, deep down I am truly touched. I am happy to receive such profound love from you. However, sometimes love isn’t like this. This kind of love is too selfish and self-serving. It’s not something we can bear. We want so little from life and simple happiness. Yet why do our outcomes become so unbearable, leading us to pain? Is that really the conclusion you want?

You should understand that everyone desires a simple life. We’ve been through so much over the years; more than anyone, you know. You understand how I’ve managed through these years and what I mean to you. Clearly in your heart you know better than anyone else, yet why do you pretend to be innocent? You always think by doing so, you’ll gain everyone’s understanding. Do you find it meaningful?

Repeatedly, I carry all the blame while you stand out to take it upon yourself, making the world think I am not a good person!

Sometimes it’s helpful to think in reverse, considering things from someone else’s perspective. It’s only by empathizing that you’ll understand what your actions mean to others. The knowledge of such outcomes profoundly impacts others’ hearts. Never just look at things from your own angle because it’s too careless. You cannot make decisions for others. Your thoughts are just a misunderstanding of others’, creating misunderstandings between us that grow bigger and bigger. Isn’t that the case between the two of us?

I feel at this time the person you most need to apologize to is not me, but your father. If today you die here, you’ll lose your father and your son. Awful as it sounds, you’d abandon them once more, but this time completely and forever. They will never forgive a heartless father, a heartless son, for what you’ve done is not worthy of their forgiveness. Why do you treat them like this, repeatedly, just for me?

Since I said I no longer begrudge you for anything in the past, that I married you as proof I won’t pursue old wrongs, you needn’t cling to past errors incessantly. Holding on to the past benefits nothing and only worsens our relationship and complicates things. I only want to stay peacefully here, by my child’s side. Please give me this chance and stop opposing me every turn.

Zhang Zhentian hung his head as his wife spoke, realizing for the first time that nothing he has done was right. His wife always understood things rationally while he made such senseless actions. This time he almost caused his father to lose him completely. Even though he cared about his life so much, why did he act so thoughtlessly, never considerate of their thoughts?

It’s his own fault for being so dictatorial, repeatedly acting without considering whether others could endure such blows. He acted on whims that he now regrets, but regret comes too late. No one waits forever for your apology; even if you apologize, they might not forgive you.

”Xia Jing, I’m sorry, I understand now. I realize nothing I’ve done was right. All I want now is a stable life. I’ll never again recklessly give my life away because life is precious, and I cannot joke about it. If I do, how much would my family suffer, especially my father? As you said, the old burying the young?

If that’s the case, how painful it would be for them! I am his son, yet I only depart this way. How could his heart comprehend or be happy? What he wants is just for his son to live peacefully by his side, talking and being with him. Returning home to see him is bliss, is solace. But if I truly leave this world, what can my father say? Not seeing his own child makes him even more heartbroken, doesn’t it?”

”It’s good if you’ve realized. If you keep this up, I won’t know what to say to you.

Your thought process is seemingly slower than everyone else’s. Despite others admitting mistakes quickly, you can’t react in time, thinking your actions aren’t wrong. But in truth, in reality, everything you’ve done is wrong. You haven’t ever considered what others thought at the time. Even now, aren’t you going to sincerely apologize to your father instead of leaving him worried about you?

No matter where or when, parents always care about their children’s well-being. Even if a child makes mistakes, parents only care about their child’s well-being!”

Life is tough, having parents is happiness!
