My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2353: Chapter 2186: Strength

The New Year always comes so quickly.

No matter what, Zhang Yichen hears his father say these words to his mother, and although he must be prepared, he still feels a little uncomfortable deep down. After all, they are his parents—his very parents—and now that they know the car is back in the family, why insist on driving them out as he did before, making them never return home? Must he be so heartless? Not being an ordinary person, why should he compute with ordinary people!

Wherever and whenever, in the end, his heart could never truly ignore his parents, no matter how much they had hurt him.

She just wanted her mom and dad to stay by her side; now that they are back, why continue to be aggressive like before, only pushing herself deeper into the abyss of pain?

Don’t think that by making others sincerely follow your rules, you can live happily. It is actually the most painful, because you never know if others are genuinely treating you or if they are deceiving you. Sometimes, it’s not others saving you that you fear but others harming you behind your back.

”Zhentian, whether you are grateful to the heavens, I am also grateful. She gave me such an excellent son, allowing me to return to this family under such choices. I truly don’t know how to thank the heavens for this blessing!

But for the mistakes I have made, I must bear them myself, for no one owes me anything. Every word I have spoken, I must apologize for my own promises.

I have hurt innocent people, especially my innocent child. How kind and innocent he is, yet how could I ever treat him in such a way as a mother?

There truly isn’t a mother in this world who could be as heartless as I am, to hurt her son without even realizing it, repeatedly causing them pain.

Perhaps this is why, in this lifetime, I may never be forgiven by my family. The mistakes I’ve made have hurt so many, so why would they forgive me, and what right do I have to seek their forgiveness?”

Zhang Zhentian listens to his wife say this, and deep down, he feels genuinely uncomfortable. Although he understands that many things were self-inflicted, who wants to admit all their mistakes?

”No more talking; we’re not Saints.

As long as we’re not Saints, who doesn’t make mistakes? Even though we once made many mistakes, we know now that we’ve erred, and we’re sincerely correcting them. Why should we repeatedly take the damage caused by our past mistakes upon ourselves, just because we initially erred?

I know you’re not feeling well deep down, but how could I feel any better? He’s my child too, my family. They were hurt by us to such an extent. Now, thinking back, it’s vivid, the memories still fresh; even though it’s them, I can’t forgive myself. To them, I don’t expect more forgiveness or understanding, I just hope they’ll let me stay here.

Perhaps staying here has no power to change any outcome. If their hearts are truly as stone, how can we soften them, and how could they forgive us? But the mistakes we’ve made are ultimately ours to bear. This is a solid truth, and no one can change this.”

Xia Jing really has no other thoughts now, and she doesn’t dare have any. She only wants to stay peacefully with her family, but heaven seems not to give them this opportunity.

”Alright, I don’t want to say anything more now. The destined outcome can’t be changed by all I have given. But to avoid regrets in the future, I will still give everything without hesitation, even if the result is not what I want.”

Zhang Yichen, listening to his parents’ dialogue, feels uneasy. His mother is such a proud person, yet for the sake of returning home and staying by his side, she is willing to make sacrifices like this. Has he, as a son, perhaps gone too far? Why is he still unwilling to earnestly plead with his parents now, allowing them to return? A single sentence could save them from all this hardship, they wouldn’t have to foolishly give up so much, and it could restore everything in this family. So why is he still indifferent, not even helping?

Actually, he himself doesn’t know; deep down, there are many hurdles and contradictions. His parents have indeed hurt and abandoned him, but since he decided to let them return, should he truthfully forgive them and let them stay here, no longer wishing for any pain or torment?

It’s obviously a simple sentence, so why can’t he say it? Is it really that hard to say it out loud? Just saying it could settle everything.

”Dad, you don’t have to say anything anymore. I’ve been outside the door listening to everything you’ve said. The words you’ve spoken have deeply touched me. I always thought you came back just like grandpa, just to return to this family, speaking those words that forced us to forgive you. But deep inside, you really didn’t know where you faltered. Now, hearing what you’ve said, I truly understand you know the gravity of your mistakes.

Don’t worry, since decisions were made to bring you back, then this kind of incident won’t happen again. Stay here peacefully, don’t ever think of leaving again. If you decide to leave this family again, then once you’re gone, you shouldn’t return forever. Coming back and leaving will only hurt us repeatedly; you are my parents. Now that you realize your mistakes, you have our forgiveness. All we want is for you to genuinely recognize where your faults lie! Perhaps you feel hurt by this, but there’s nothing that can be done.”

Strength in each step is what life is.
