My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2097: Chapter 1930: Looking Back

”Mom and Dad, when you were about to wake up from your accident, everyone at home was worried about you. No matter what you’ve done before, at least at that time, we were all thinking of you.”

”Well, as long as they can wake up, it’s a happiness for this couple too. They’ve been through so many ups and downs over the years. If because of this incident, they would lose their lives, how unfair that would be for them. Who has considered how they feel inside? No one knows what they truly want. But just being alive in this world might be the greatest comfort. Everyone wants different things. Everyone gets different results in this world. No matter how much one has given, as long as there’s a little reward in the end, it’s something to be thankful for!”

”Yes, if they really can’t wake up, how devastating it would be for a child inside. They never considered it. Perhaps every parent has their selfish moments, but hurting their relationship with their family for a selfish reason is not worth it for anyone.”

”Mom and Dad, can you really bear to see your own son here, in such despair? I truly hope you can wake up. Both of you are slowly showing responses now. Why aren’t you reacting? Why is your injury worse than Mom’s? I really wish both of you could be safe and sound. How nice would it be if the one lying in the hospital was me? I’m willing to bear all the pain for you, but I can’t stand seeing you hurt even a little bit. I don’t know why, but slowly, I’ve come to accept you deep down.”

As long as you aren’t hurt, it seems like it doesn’t matter if I endure all the pain. I truly don’t care that much. What I want is really simple. Just being able to live simply is the happiest thing for me. I never thought about what kind of life I would have. Everyone lives like this. I’ve lived like this over and over again. Isn’t what I want simple enough?”

Zhang Yichen saw Xia Jing’s finger move and felt even more stirred inside. He thought his calls had been very effective in waking his mom. He just wanted his mother to wake up and wasn’t worried about his father not waking up, believing there was a tacit understanding between the couple. It’s something no one could break. He believed that as long as one of them wakes up, the other will wake up immediately because it’s something unique between them that no one knows.

”Mom, you’re about to wake up soon, right? I believe you can’t bear to leave me here alone. You know how hard my life has been these years. I can’t endure the blow from Dad and Mom anymore. As long as you can live, no matter how much it pierces my heart, I will do it willingly. As long as you’re safe and happy, it’s more important than anything to me. Grandpa has already fallen sick. Don’t you know you have to wake up? Do you know? I’m your son! I’m the son you abandoned for so many years but never hated you!”

Xia Jing, upon hearing these words, moved his finger more frequently. He didn’t know if it was his subconscious or something else. He knew he owed his son. But why doesn’t he open his eyes immediately to look at him?

Over the years, she knew how much she owed her son. She knew better than anyone. She knew she might never be able to let her son live happily like before in her lifetime. But it was all caused by her. As a mother, shouldn’t she open her eyes quickly to make amends with her child? Should she really let her child stay in such anguish? If this was really the case, what right did she have to be his mother?

”Mom, open your eyes, hurry up. I’m your son. I’m here waiting for you.

I’ve been here for so many days, accompanying you for so many days. Every day and night, I’ve never left. All I want is for you to wake up. Don’t you know? How much I yearn for you to wake up quickly. As long as you wake up, what does anything else matter to me?

Don’t make me worry anymore, don’t make me sad anymore. As long as you wake up, it’s more important than anything to me. Wake up, Mom, hurry and wake up to see me, see your grandson. He so eagerly wants his grandma to talk to him. Wake up and see Grandpa. He’s still waiting in the ward. Because of you, he has aged too. Can you bear to see so many of us suffering all the responsibility and going into the hospital one by one for you two?”

Xia Jing suddenly opened his eyes in that instant. He found himself surrounded by so much brightness when he opened his eyes. He hadn’t seen the sunlight for so long he couldn’t remember when. He’d been living in a nightmare he couldn’t get out of, no matter how he tried. He could hear his son’s cries, but his eyes remained unbearably heavy, unable to open. He was scared too; he hoped his eyes could open. He wanted to see his son, his father, and hold his grandson. He knew how much he’d owed all these years, and how much he’d amassed... He couldn’t escape all these. He could only rely on his willpower to live step by step up to today. The longing he bore all these years wasn’t fake either. Today, he could finally attain all he yearned for in his dreams.

When he woke up, was he already forgetting why he argued with his husband? He remembered what he once did. He chose a constructive life, forgetting the things that pained him the most and only remembering his happiest memories.

Perhaps, this is the best for her. But her son doesn’t know. Not even she knew why her mind was a fog, remembering nothing, until after the doctor’s examination did they realize she had selective amnesia.

She had woken up, but her husband hadn’t. To everyone, it was a blow, yet also a joy. As long as one wakes up, that’s happiness. As long as we continue waiting, believe miracles will keep happening.

”Child, we know, so we are even more hopeful for your family’s reunion. This is what every parent wishes for their child!”
