My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2061: Chapter 1894: Rainy Day

Countless times, I have watched raindrops fall from the window onto my head, finding it all so unbelievable.

Old Master Zhang knows that Zhang Zhentian now regrets it!

Deep down, she understands why her son acts the way he does, says the things he says, and what consequences his actions will have. Deep down, he understands it better than anyone, but sometimes he has to hide these words. He knows that once some words are spoken, their meaning changes—so why make things awkward for oneself? Isn’t it nice to have a happy family to chat together? After all these years, she had never waited for her child to return to her side until today. How could she not be excited, not be moved?

Similarly, how could Zhang Zhentian not know what his biological father feels inside? He has been away from home for so many years. Over these years, he has never been with his family. They have been without his company for more than a decade. As a son, he hasn’t fulfilled his responsibilities, and as a father, he hasn’t fulfilled his responsibilities to his biological son either. He’s never adhered to his duties all his life. He truly doesn’t understand why he chose this path in the first place. This path of no return eventually disrupted the family’s peaceful and happy life. Everything was a result of his actions, so who else could he blame?

In life, not everything goes smoothly. Some things happen and cannot be changed by anyone’s words. Every action and decision comes at a heavy price.

Zhang Yichen, seeing the understanding between his grandfather and his father, knew it was time to say the most important thing.

”Let’s stop discussing this. Since this decision has been made, I will now tell you my final decision. You have wandered the world outside for so many years; it’s time to return home. Not because I’ve chosen to forgive you, but because some things require a decision. Whether for one reason or another, I should make the right choice. Maybe this choice will be tough for you, but I believe it is something grandpa will be most pleased about. He has sacrificed so much for me. How can I let you be unable to return home just because of me, letting my grandpa endure another painful farewell? I won’t let my grandpa suffer such harm again!

He loves me so much, giving me all the best things. I just want him to live a healthy life. My grandpa is the one who loves me the most. I must let him live happily and without worries.”

Zhang Zhentian didn’t understand what his son meant by these words, nor did he want to know how to make his son feel less hostile toward him. Perhaps once certain things happen, there’s truly no way to mend them. He hurt the ones he loved the most, causing them so much pain and hurt. Maybe now they are coming back to take revenge on him, ensuring he will never live happily again.

Although Zhang Zhentian didn’t understand what his son meant, Old Master Zhang heard it clearly.

He knew what it meant for his grandson to say such words. Perhaps his once-broken family could return to its former self.

Even if its original state isn’t what he most desires, it’s still a happy family. Isn’t living together as a family the happiest thing?

There’s nothing more important than living happily with one’s family. Perhaps he once considered this too crucial or perhaps too indifferent, which led to this outcome. If he had taken a small step back, would the result be different? He truly doesn’t understand what decision he made in the past or why he drove his own son from his home.

That is his own son, no reason should have forced him from his home. He should live happily in this world.

”Now that I’ve said this much, you should come back. I hope you will not do things that embarrass everyone like in the past, and I also hope you can make grandpa enjoy his later years in happiness. These years have been tough on grandpa, the abandonment caused him much hurt. You may not feel it’s significant, but my grandpa has suffered too much. He’s not a Saint.

Your actions ultimately would leave deep scars on grandpa’s heart. So, please, when doing things in the future, even if you don’t consider my feelings, take into account my elderly grandpa. He’s worked so hard, given so much, and yet received nothing in return. I can’t bear to see it. He’s my grandpa! How can I not consider his wellbeing, letting him weep silently again and again while I, his grandson, stand helplessly aside, unable to lend a helping hand? You have no idea how helpless that feels.”

Old Master Zhang felt very touched hearing his grandson say that. His love for his grandson all these years hadn’t been in vain. He was forever seen as the closest person, every action of his grandson was always from his perspective. Old Master Zhang was truly moved. If everyone in the world could be so grateful, what would another lifetime be?

In the end, he did the greatest thing—loving his dearest family member.

Many feelings deep inside can’t be explained, can’t say what changed.
