My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2062: Chapter 1895: Knowing All There Is in a Lifetime

Everything in this busy life is beyond one’s control!

In fact, Xia Jing just wanted to tell her husband that she wanted to travel the world with him because such times were truly rare.

She had already missed so many great moments before, always thinking about how to accomplish the tasks in her organization during those times.

But she had forgotten that she was also a woman, needing to experience a life that many women yearned for. Why was she always so reckless? Why did she always lead others into getting hurt with her?

Xia Jing looked at Zhang Zhentian fleeing in panic, and she couldn’t help but reflect on herself.

Just how much harm had she brought to her husband, causing him such fear, making him flee without even a chance to talk?

Watching her husband react this way to her, her heart was still uneasy. But there were some things she truly couldn’t resolve; they were things she had to face step by step. Since she had chosen this path, why should she keep reflecting on herself repeatedly? If she gave up on the paths she once chose, wouldn’t it be all for nothing? Then how would she be different from those who quit halfway?

Zhang Yichen happened to pass by and saw his father running in a panic out of the bedroom. He didn’t understand what had happened, and his first thought was that his mother had bullied his father again, and his father had lost to his mother once more and was too afraid to speak up, leaving quietly instead.

But this time, things weren’t as he imagined. This time, it was his father being too cowardly, unable to stand in front of his mother to hear her speak those words. If he stood in front of her and heard those words, he might have felt excited and moved, maybe even hugged his wife warmly, but he fled instead.

”Dad, what’s wrong? Why did I see you rush out of the bedroom? Did something happen? Did mom say something to you again? Or did she kick you out again?

I don’t understand your attitude towards my mom, but surely you shouldn’t let her do this to you repeatedly? She keeps doing this to you, so why can’t you show some dignity as a man and persuade her?

If mom really kicked you out, rest assured, I’ll sort this out for you. I absolutely don’t believe she can continue calling you in and out like this. What does she take you for? Are you a man or not? Show a bit of basic dignity as a man, will you?”

”You shut up. No matter what, she’s your mother, and you have no right to criticize or blame her!

She worked hard to bring you into this world, which is the greatest gift to you. Why keep blaming her like this? Today, I ran away because I was afraid she’d reject me, not daring to face her. It’s my lack of responsibility as a man, so why blame your mother for kicking me out? You keep meddling in our affairs, making it awkward for me, aren’t you?”

Zhang Yichen was stunned. He hadn’t expected this time the fault was his father’s. He didn’t expect the result was due to his father fleeing, leading to another misunderstanding about his mother.

Xiao Jing heard her son’s opinion about her in the bedroom, and she felt truly disappointed. She hadn’t expected the impression she left on her son was like this, always thinking she’d done wrong, doubting herself repeatedly.

She hadn’t thought she was such a failure as a mother, unable to provide a basic life for her son, unable to gain his basic trust. She felt like the most incompetent mother on earth.

”Son, I only wanted to travel the world with your mother. Though we’ve been wandering outside all these years, always lacking a fixed place, you always thought we were very happy outside, but who could understand the anxiety we felt outside!

I want to take her to see the infinite beauty of nature, let her experience the world’s best things. I don’t want her to be so tired; I want her to live a life no other woman ever does.

Before, I had no chance or ability to take her on a world tour, but now things have come to this point, I want to do everything I’ve ever wanted for her, or else when she indeed leaves me, then what? I can only watch her laughing in someone else’s arms, while I silently observe in the background. Do you know how desperate that feeling is?”

Xia Jing listened to Zhang Zhentian’s words and couldn’t help but cry. She had never thought her repeated decisions would lead to such an outcome. Her husband suddenly saying he wanted to take her on a world tour was only because he feared she might really leave him one day and he’d miss the chance to show her the world’s most beautiful things. He only wanted to leave these memories as the best for her.

”Dad, you mean you’re afraid mom might leave you one day, so you’re taking her around the world just to keep these precious memories forever in your mind, and you’ll spend your later years with these memories, right?

Have you really thought about whether it’s worth doing this?

Actually, deep down, my mom hasn’t forgotten you. For all you’ve done for her now, she’ll only feel more grateful deep down. Just that some things aren’t easily forgotten when spoken, so...”

”I know, I really don’t know if I understand anything anymore. Before, I wasn’t concerned; I could wait forever, but now I can’t wait any longer. I’m really afraid she’ll leave me one day; I just want to imprint our best memories forever in my mind. Even if she leaves someday, I’ll still have our sweetest memories together. To me, she’s life’s greatest treasure...”

Happy times are always around you; be brave to discover them, and they’re yours!
