My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1692: Chapter 1486: Once

You once appeared before my eyes, but now you’ve disappeared without a trace. I love you so, I wish dearly that you could quickly return to my side.

Deep down, she actually understands very well why her son might react in certain ways, the things he might say, the things he might do, and the consequences those actions could ultimately bring. His heart comprehends more than anyone else’s, yet sometimes he has no choice but to hide these feelings because he knows once those words are spoken, their meaning changes. Why make things awkward for himself when he could instead have a happy conversation with his family? All these years, she has never once had her child return to her side, and now, finally, this day has come. How could his heart not be full of excitement and emotion?

Similarly, how could Zhang Zhentian not know what his biological father truly feels inside? He’s been away from home for so many years now and has never been there for his family. They have been missing his presence for over a decade. As a son, he hasn’t fulfilled the responsibilities a son should. As a father, he hasn’t fulfilled his responsibilities toward his own child. Every decision he’s made throughout his life has never been dutiful. He truly doesn’t understand why he chose this path at the beginning, a road that leads to no return, and devastates the happy, peaceful life of a family. This result, all the consequences of his own actions, who can he really blame?

In life, nothing comes easily. Some things, once they happen, cannot be changed by any words anyone says. Every action and decision he makes always comes at a heavy price.

Zhang Yichen looks at the understanding between his grandfather and his father, and he knows the time has come for him to say the most important words.

”You all, stop saying anything else. Since this decision has been made, then I will tell you my final decision now. You’ve been wandering the world for so many years, it’s time to come home. Not for anything else, and not because I have chosen to forgive you, but because I have to make a decision. No matter for whom, I must make the right decision. Perhaps this decision will feel like torture to you, but I believe it is definitely the most joyful thing for Grandpa. He has sacrificed too much for me; how could I allow you not to come home just because of me? How can I let my grandpa endure the pain of separating with his family again? I will not let my grandpa suffer this kind of hurt again!

He loves me so much, giving me everything best. I just want him to live healthily. My grandpa is the person who loves me the most, and I must make sure he lives a happy life, a life free from worries.”

Zhang Zhentian didn’t understand what his son meant by these words, nor did he want to know what he should do to reduce the hostility his son feels towards him. Perhaps once some things happen, they really cannot be undone. He had once hurt the people he loved the most, causing them so much impact and pain. Maybe now it’s heaven letting them come back to retaliate against him, making it so he could never live happily in this life.

Although Zhang Zhentian didn’t comprehend what his son was saying, Old Master Zhang understood everything clearly.

He knew exactly what his grandson’s words meant. Perhaps his once-broken family could return to the way it was.

Even if the way things were wasn’t what he most wished, it was still a happy family for him. Living together was the happiest thing, no?

Nothing is more important than living happily together as a family. Perhaps he had looked at things too seriously in the past or too carelessly, which led to the result as it is today. If he had taken a step back, maybe things wouldn’t have ended up like this. He truly doesn’t understand what kind of decisions he made in the past or what reasons drove his biological son away from home.

That was his own son, no matter the reason, he shouldn’t have been forced to leave home. He was supposed to live happily, supposed to walk through life blissfully.

”Since I have said so much, please come back this time. I hope when you return, don’t repeat any behavior that would make everyone look bad. I also hope you allow grandpa to enjoy his later years happily. Over the years, Grandpa has suffered a lot. Your abandonment has caused him great harm, and while you may not think much of it, my grandpa has endured so much. He isn’t a saint.

The things you’ve done ultimately scarred grandpa’s heart. So, in the future, even if you don’t take my feelings into account, please consider my elderly grandpa. He’s worked too hard, given too much, without ever seeing any return. It pains me to watch him silently weep alone, unable as his grandson to do anything except helplessly watch. The helpless feeling is truly overwhelming.”

Old Master Zhang was very moved by his grandson’s words. Over all these years, the love he’s given to his grandson hasn’t been in vain. He has always regarded him as the most important person, considering everything from his perspective. Old Master Zhang’s heart is truly touched. If everyone in the world could be so grateful, what more could his life ask for? Ultimately, the greatest thing he’s done was to care dearly for the person he loves most.

Recalling the soundtrack from the movie feels like his eyes; I really want to know if there is a letter to bring you back to my side?
