My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1679: Chapter 1473: Destined

I have never seen my family so haggard.

All I thought about was giving them the best, but in the end...

Zhang Zhentian really couldn’t accept his father saying such words to him. After all, he is his son no matter what. How much hatred and animosity does his father have towards him to say such heartless and cruel words? As a son, and also a father himself, how could he bear to hurt his own child? Why can’t they ever see the good in their family, always only knowing the pain and hurt they bring time and again? Why does everyone push all the pain, all the responsibility onto him? Is he born to be their scapegoat?

”Dad, no matter what, I am your biological son. You have no right to say these things to me. You know I am not a heartless person. How could I ignore my own son? What you’re doing is making me so sad, so heartbroken. I never thought that one day the relationship between us would become like this. Do you think this is the life we wanted?

You always think that everything I do is wrong, but have you ever thought about why I made so many mistakes? Do I deserve to be kicked out of the house again and again? I really don’t understand what kind of reason would make you so indifferent to me, what kind of thing made you distrust me so much? Just because I made mistakes in the past, does it mean nothing I do now can earn even a fraction of your trust?

I hope that no matter what happens, we can always be the most trusted people to each other. It’s only by trusting each other that we can last long.

Look at the state we’re in now; our home is no longer a home, with fights breaking out again and again, leading to the conclusion we’re facing now. Do you think this is the outcome we wanted?”

Old Master Zhang knows that all of this is not what he wanted, but now things have reached such a point that it’s too late to regret it, even if he wants to. He remembers every word he once said.

When his son left the family, he spoke with such confidence, never really considering anyone in the family as part of it. Since that’s the case, why should he demand so much now? His constant demands have only pushed him to a dead end. He never thought his life would endure so much pain and suffering. He once believed that as long as he was happy and persistent, even if he suffered till the end, it wouldn’t matter. But now he realizes his actions are merely a joke in his son’s eyes, as his son never showed any gratitude, only hatred. Such a son made him wonder why he was born, considering all that he sacrificed for him seemed totally unworthy in hindsight.

”You know deep down that you are my son, no matter what you did or how many mistakes I made you commit, you can never change this fact. I’ve told you this more than once. How else do you want me to explain it to you? Every decision you made, every mistake you committed, did you not think about the consequences? Have you ever considered the hurt and pain you would bring to the people who love you? All you wanted was your inner happiness. You turned people’s sincere hearts towards you into donkey’s livers and lungs, forgetting everyone needed your care. You forgot you are a father and that you also have a family with relatives!”

”It is because I know I have relatives that I have made so many sacrifices for you. Why have you never been willing to stand in my shoes and consider things? What has it resulted in? Do you think I live without pain or exhaustion? You’ve driven me out time and again, spoken heartless words to me multiple times. Do you think I am truly unfeeling, deserve this?”

You think everything I did was wrong. But have you considered that everything I did was for you? Why do you treat me this way? Why can’t you give me even a bit of sincerity? Is it really so hard to give me your sincerity?”

”Now you remember you have family and relatives. Have you ever thought about how hard everyone has it? Think about everything you did in the past; which one was truly worth forgiving? We’ve forgiven you again and again because you’re family. But you? You’ve repeatedly hurt us; did you ever treat us like family? You never did, and not even you know why you acted the way you did, only chasing a bit of freedom deep in your heart. You thought that freedom would bring you happiness, letting you soar, but you forgot that as high as you fly, you will fall just as hard. Now do you understand what you’ve gained? You’ve sought to fly repeatedly, but what now?”

Do you really dare say that your current life is happy, joyful, and content? Have you forgotten those who suffered because of you, experiencing immense pain and heartbreak?

They tolerated so much societal pressure, subjected themselves to ridicule, just to ensure you could return home peacefully and live happily. But you never cared.

Perhaps, in your eyes, everything you wanted was just ephemeral. But why did you keep repeating the same actions? What benefits did you gain? You abandoned your family, hurt every person who loved you dearly, and in the end, you gained nothing, only causing harm to more people. Time and again, you remained stubbornly deluded and hurt everyone. What exactly is in your heart? What kind of things, what kind of reasons could make you repeat such stubborn folly?”

If we are destined to be together, I will certainly hold your hand and not let go!
